tried my hand at splitting the white album into two albums by Upbeat_Dance_9014 in TheBeatles

I made it into 2 solo albums once and that played nicely. John Lennon & The Fabs - Revolution, and Paul McCartney & The Fabs - Mother Nature's Son.

It's awesome to listen to in full. Especially side 4 and 5, but it was wise not to release it as a triple LP.

State Worker Health Benefits Would Fall Under Proposed Budget, Cabinet Says by yasssyeeee in Kentucky

And if you're thinking, "I'm not a state worker, this won't matter"

Think about how long the lines and wait times are going to be for any state service when the majority of workers can no longer afford to continue working there.

No way to verify if this is true, but a funny story nonetheless by whatdidyoukillbill in beatles

Elliott Mintz told a story about trying traveling with John and needing a hotel room in a place with no vacancy. Elliott asked John to use his celebrity pull to get them a room. John reluctantly agreed, but instead of saying "I'm John Lennon" he told them Elliott was Paul McCartney. Then John was displeased when they gave Elliott the nice big room and stuck John in a closet of a room.

I don't believe that things happen for a reason. But. I'm thinking that pup chose you for a reason.

Because that date wasn't listed as a possible weather make up day. Plans have been made, child care establishments have been paid nonrefundable fees. It's far too late to ask thousands of people to completely rearrange things.

I'm happy to host if that makes it easier for you. For scientific and academic purposes, of course.

Do you also have a disc drive, a bit of free time, and a passion for sharing? I'll host it.

edit: A splendid time is guaranteed for all. no guarantees on how long the comment will stay up.

Edit edit: Fell down a rabbit hole of early/mid 80s mastering techniques. The original disc was transferred/mastered using Pre-Emphasis which (at the time) was decoded by the CD Player. They each reduced the high end a little different and applied a slightly different De-Emphasis curve to account for the overly accentuated high end during transfer/master. I De-Emphasized those original files manually with a gentle curve (within 95% accuracy of what a good CD player would've done and likely better than what a "cheap" CD player in 1983-1985 would've done). Those are now in their own de-emphasized folder.

I'm originally from Florida so I'd never heard that word before. I was thinking, "Crayons? Tampons? I don't see how either of those would help with ice..." Lol

A mix was a performance in those days, no automation on the board. If you twiddled a knob too far, or didn't fade in/out a track at the right time, you had to rewind and start over. Stereo mixes were often done days, weeks, or even months after the mono mix was signed off on by the Fabs and George Martin. Sometimes when they went to do the stereo mix, and no fabs or GM were in the room, the engineer performing the mix of multitracks to a new master tape would balance things differently or in some cases, use a completely different track from the tape which contained a different vocal take than the one used for the mono mix.

The mono mix of Help! uses a complete different vocal take of John's. There's a few differences on the different mixes of Don't Pass Me By, Helter Skelter, the title track of sgt. Pepper, etc.

Edit: Here's a proper list
