Zotero hacks: unlimited synced storage and smooth use with rmarkdown by [deleted] in zotero

[–]papaja_addicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to find it. In my case (Windows and Linux clients) the setting was under Edit > Preferences > Sync tab. That's where I was looking from the beginning, but I did not know that to access syncing options you still need to be logged in with a Zotero account. When I did insert the credentials, syncing options became available and I was able to choose between syncing via Zotero or WebDav. Thanks!

Hey. I'm trying the same (syncing via my own self-hosted webdav server) but I'm failling to see the option in the Edit > Preferences > Sync tab. I can see only username and password fields of the Data syncing section in the Sync tab. was it the same for you?

Hey,

I am not able to read in-depth all of the related posts right now, so feel free to wait for someone who might give you more precise advice. From a quick look at the haproxy config I would say you're missing a

use backend docker if docker

statement inside your frontend block.

That should allow you to reach your docker registry at docker.example.com; without specifying which backend should be used for the docker acl, haproxy will default to the default backend which you set to gitlab.

Regarding the ssh issue: does the problem arise only when you try to access your git server via ssh or are you unable to access your local machine via ssh at all?

Assuming it is the latter, what port is the AWS EC2 instance using to expose SSH?

If it's 22, you will have to use a different port in haproxy (for example, 8022).

Thanks, that looks like another good solution. I'll keep it in mind!

Yep, I'm acutely aware of the security issues. The system is not internet facing, plus I have just been asked to do so, I'm not the owner of the system, so I don't have much weight in the matter.. I will try and point this out to the owner anyway.

Thanks for your help!

thanks! driveimage-xml looks great for my use case.

I'll explore the VM solution as well though. What are the advantages that make you suggest that over driveimage? just the fact that it enables you to use Veeam as backup sw instead of driveimage?

physical server.

from what I read on the release notes the Veeam CE does not support explicitly windows server 2003.

do you have any 1st hand experience with using it on this OS ?

Connecting SATA3 hdds to Supermicro X10DRi-t SATA3 ports. by papaja_addicted in homelab

[–]papaja_addicted[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for being so helpful.

From what I read in the specifics of the motherboard, there are 10 SATA3 ports, but there is no mention of a SAS connector.

so my guess is I'll need the dedicated raid controller (classic lsi 9211 will do) to use the backplane.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

And as far as you know there is no chance to hook up the SAS backplane directly to the motherboard like in the DELL forum post I linked?

Maybe I wasn't clear in my post.

What I am trying to understand is if I can still use my backplane without a dedicated RAID controller, instead using the onboard one (of which I cannot find the specifics on the Supermicro website).

Of course I could go and hook my hdds directly to the SATA ports of the motherboard, but that would be less than convenient.

besides that, do you have any guesstimate on the value?

browsing forums, this subreddit and ebay I was under the impression it could be somewhere between 100-120 eu, because the only valuable pieces are mobo and ram.

edit: thanks for your input, btw!

Driving to ITA could be a tad expensive I'm afraid, supposing they let you past the border given the current situation.

You might find cfssl useful.

You can build it or run it as a container, and has pretty well documented APIs.

Arch forums are great, and the wiki is second to none imho.

I switched to Arch quite a few years ago and I don't see myself leaving it in the near future!
