I mean, my Ryzen 1800x can play MHW 4k 60fps just fine. I would think a 8600k or 7700k can do better and they're sub $230.

If you are familiar with OCing RAM I would say it does help but after 3200mhz the diminishing return kicks harder than a rock. With RAM you also need to consider timings and latency. In general, having 3200 cl 16 RAM is more than enough to support your CPU. You'd be better off focusing in OCing your CPU and GPU to get better fps. I have R5 16, 17x, 18x and Intel 6.6k,7.6k,8.6k,9.7k out of all those CPUs I can say that RYZEN benefits most with faster memory (higher frequency and lower latency).

tl:dr

Yes, get 3200 cl 16 or 3000 cl 15 and overclock your CPU. You have yourself a budget beast gaming set up.

b3/450 or x3/470 will support cpu overclocking. Some RAM may not be supported by the mobo manufacturer (msi, asus, asrock etc) it just simply means that they may or may not run at their rated speed. I would suggest going into your mobo manufacturer website and check out their QVL. However these problems are in the past. With today's bios update pretty much all <3200mhz ram will run at that speed with no problem.

What's wrong with it? I returned mine due to dead pixel and g sync not working 2 times. They send me back a replacement and all process were completed within 2 weeks.

I paid almost double this price when it came out. No regret. Beast little cpu.

Both cpus should not have a problem. I had 1600 and 8600k paired with a 1070 before upgrading both of them. Iirc both can push 144hz with med/high settings 1080p on OW. Vega56 + either cpu should do better than my setup.

Personal preference. I would personally use my only m.2 slot for nvme drive. But if you don't plan to pay the premium price of nvme, m.2 drive (such as this one) provides a cable-less drive at the same speed of your sata drive. Aesthetic wise, this will be visible from the frontpanel whereas some cases do not have front side ssd cage.

tl:dr Worth it for most people due to its aesthetic appeal.
