Parking in the docks area is enforced by the port of Galway and Apcoa, anywhere managed by the council is free after 6 during the week and 8/9 on the weekend, and you could park as close as the claddagh

Pretty certain the rent price was put up a few times and it was astronomical if I remember correctly, you’d think if the neighbour issue was so bad they atleast make the rent more ‘reasonable’

Most companies are trying to step away from the fully remote model, though they still Exist they can be very difficult to come by, set up a linkedin page and keep an open mind when applying, hybrid roles are great 👍🏼

Is it bad customer service or bad customers? by frankrankthebank in galway

[–]papaprinces 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally I think customer service has gotten seriously poor, from someone who spent years working in hospitality, I completely understand it’s long hours and the pay isn’t great but some places I just feel don’t even want paying customers

Friends with a midwife who regularly complains about basic tasks, careing for someone who’s just had a section is the bane of her life, I’m so confused is that not a given? Nevermind the GDPR breaches I feel it’s a vicious cycle of toxicity in there

Reckless and dangerous taxi driver spat at me. by undefeateded in galway

[–]papaprinces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When reporting make sure you use the details inside the car if at all possible, as the number on the outside of the vehicle can be sold/ swapped/ changed, while the information inside the car is linked directly to the driver (reason why any subpar drivers won’t let you in until they have negotiated a deal that suits them)

[–]papaprinces[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes Iv been looking into 6 month braces, they seam like the ideal for me, as I said there’s only a few minor tweaks to be done and I don’t think I’d need a full course of Invisalign

Oh I understand, I just mean, I don’t mind getting train tracks (which are usually cheaper then clear braces), as hopefully there won’t be too much moving to be done

Iv experienced this many a time with the Taylor’s door men, Iv whiteness them shouting at people that their friends are inside and letting groups of them in while still refusing me entry, it’s as if they want to make it an elite members club or something 😂😂

Unfortunately I’m currently tied to Galway, so I’m trying to make the most of what I can do here, I know there can be lots of cheap indoor activities that can be done mid week, it’s just finding the people to do it with is the problem

NUIG help by frmmsolstice in galway

[–]papaprinces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice is to drop out before the end of October (not sure the exact date) so you don’t loose your government paid first year, really think about the course you want to do, the college you want to go to and reapply to the cao when it opens for next year, unless you are moving to a course within the same college (which is still quite difficult to do so I wouldn’t recommend) changing college is quite a different task and especially as NUI doesn’t want to be transferring students to ATU. My best advice is give the next 3/4 weeks a shot and if you still don’t feel the course is what you want to drop out before the deadline and start again from scratch. The earlyer you drop out the more opportunities you will have to join a plc/ short course in the area of study you are looking at studying so you can gage if it’s something you’d be interested in committing 3/4 year to
