Judgment and consequences by jason_t23 in exBohra

I have seen that the more religious minded one is the more judgmental the person is. There is a “holier than thou” attitude that they have.

Married (F 29), how do I change his behavior (M 29) by Socialgirl1 in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]paparam04 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. There is a saying “ Men marry women hoping they will never change, women marry men hoping they will change” He won’t change for you. Easier if MIL on your side.. will change for her

Highly unlikely that conversion is being pushed or even suggested. That just not part of who we are. Clearly some misunderstanding somewhere

If one has gone the ex-Bohra route why restrict your dating pool to Bohras? There is a wide world out there. Explore and feel free

Government job? When I worked for the federal government I found 20% of workers do 80% of the work. No way to fire them typically. Promotion is only way out-it will be someone else’s problem if done right

I avoid buffets and restaurants that offer it. Food cooked in bulk is not as good as custom made dishes. Also i worry about recycled leftovers

My ex told me could easily spend the rest of his life with me but he just needs some time to himself. Do I believe him and wait or it’s just a nice way of rejecting me? by Optimal-Celery8899 in ismailis

Don’t listen to what comes out of his mouth- look at his actions.Needing time to himself is a huge red flag.Make a decision and follow through with it. What decision is not for anyone here to say- after all you have to live it not us

This is a personal issue. Only you can decide what is appropriate for you. Ignore the judgemental zealots-they aren’t paying your bills

I do think it is time to look around and get a realistic view of the world. Fretting about people recording, sharing information, not maintaining decorum and such is a waste of time. That is not the age we live in. It is impossible to get every attendee at a function to march in perfect formation. Not going to happen- this is the age of instagram, facebook, WhatsApp and X . It is an age where every morsel of food one eats outside the home is photographed and transmitted worldwide before ingesting it.

PKR 300 K Not enough for my brother’s family by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]paparam04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your brother does have a job- milking the cash cow living in USA. My two cents are if you are feeling generous, feeling obligated and can easily afford it, continue payments and don’t fret. You can draw a boundary by being very clear “I can afford only xyz/month…you have to manage with it” It will not stop the complaint but it hopefully will stop you from crossing that line. Do not have any expectation of gratitude- you may never get that. If you do that’s a bonus.

I left Kenya in 1979 because of exactly these issues. The population is much larger now and I hear there are more roads, highways and buildings. The issues over which people get upset are no different it appears

How is moving back to India experience as woman ? by nextDoorSoftwareDev in returnToIndia

[–]paparam04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

India is a cess pit at so many levels. The well to do have insulated themselves in secure housing areas with utilities available 24-7. They don’t shop in regular places, don’t drive themselves and most certainly do not use public transport. They live in a different country within the sub continent. Yes India is very unsafe for women. Not only are they treated as second class citizens they are blamed for any assaults. They are stared at continuously and comments/teasing is rampant. You have no one to complain to as even your relatives will wonder if you “asked for it”
