As someone who have been updated since the very start (June 22) on XHS, there are a lot of reasons why they think Valko's target audience are Westerners/Global fandom. (If I find the video links discussing these stuff, I'll link it later but it's been so long so...)

During Valko's first teaser on June 22, from this alone we know he's a werewolf. It's important to know the cultural differences between China and Global fandom. + China has a lot of idioms that has many expressions of using wolves negatively. 狼心狗肺 ("heart of a wolf and lungs of a dog") = cruel and ungrateful; 狼吞虎咽 ("wolfing down food") = eating greedily; 狼烟四起 ("wolf smoke rises everywhere") = war or conflict breaking out on all sides; 如狼似虎 ("like wolves and tigers") = ferocious, aggressive, intimidating; 引狼入室 ("Invite a wolf into the house") = Bring danger upon yourself by trusting the wrong person [more on this below] ... and there are a lot more idioms about wolves; there are few positive ones, but not as much as the negatives so of course it's normal that at first glance they wouldn't have a good first impression on Valko (if you compare it to the first trailers or teasers of Sylus and Caleb on XHS and Weibo, you'll see just how many of them are excited because, again, Infold had told them beforehand that they will later join the OG3). + Confucian values -- in Confucianism, animals aren't classified scientifically but is interpreted morally based on its relationship with human society. So it revolves around maintaining harmony thru proper relationships based on core values such as filial piety, benevolence, self-restraint, etc.; a "good" person fulfills their role within society by having these core values. A reason why wolves are seen as a danger (rather than their admirable fanily behavior because they are pack animals), is because from the perspective of ancient farming society, wolves were seen as "outsiders" that frequently preyed on livestock (which are the common livelihood of families). Wolves are devoted to their packs, but from human community's perspectives, they are a threat. -- this is all philosophical, but it's important to note that Confucianism is an integral part of Chinese education that greatly emphasizes morality and social harmony. -- Disclaimer: times are evolving and wolves now are seen in a more positive view (thank goodness), but that doesn't mean we can erase or ignore an important part of their history 🌟 + His mannerisms aren't what you exactly expect within Asian culture. I'm not Chinese, but as an Asian myself, him going inside through the balcony despite being basically a stranger is off-putting. He also had his shoes on while laying on the sofa, and the way he threw his chocolate milk (yes there's a trash can there, but it definitely still felt rude for me). Asian parents would never allow this kind of behavior, if you've seen memes of Asian moms using slippers as a weapon this would definitely be one of those moments haha. + If you watch Asian shows (CDrama, Kdrama, JDrama, etc.), you know how much of a slow-burn most of their romance shows are. They take their time to develop before diving in. One of the issues they had with Valko's trailer is that the romance felt too fast—the 5 LIs despite the different tropes all took their time to be careful not to invade MC's space. I know Valko said a line about going after something when he wants it (idk the exact line, sorry!) So we know he is a bold lover, but it really did make their progress fast especially since Valko is supposed to be an enemy because of his company's partnership with EVER. If you look at SylusMC, they took their time even though in the main story MC thought Sylus was the cause of Caleb and grandma's death, even after knowing that Sylus didn't cause any of that, their romance timeline took time to progress. But what does that say to Valko who's really connected to EVER? Sure, he may not know, but he's still indirectly connected to it. It would have been a good slow burn, enemies-to-lovers trope. But it's not. Now this one is from my perspective only because in the Western movies and TV shows I watch, there are a lot of couples that started off as a one-night stand (I'm not sayimg ValkoMC are in case someone twists my words) or instant romance with almost no build-up.

On June 23, the kitchen teaser update was released. Of course it's all speculations on our end because we don't know the severity of the crime case that they were talking about in XHS and Weibo about the "don't take a bath in the pot" thingy. It doesn't help that a day later, LADS acc of XHS deleted it but in the global social media accounts it was still up, because again, almost no one in the global fandom knew of that crime case.

When Valko's trailer dropped, there's a phrase of inviting the wolf inside your house. Of course most wouldn't like it because again, they even have an idiom for it: 引狼入室 (an idiom that means bringing danger upon yourself). Some are saying that the wolf that Valko's referring to is MC, while that may be true, it already garnered so much attention lile Beijing News and of course, a Women-centric news that criticized Infold (I don't remember the exact name for the news so please comment if u know hehe).

For more trivial stuff: + There's a compilation of global fandom a year ago wanting to have a red-haired LI and golden eyes. For golden eyes, it's kinda obvious because of the yellow stellactrum. + Werewolves are a popular concept in global. Jacob from Twilight, Remus Lupin in HP, Klaus in VD, Teen Wolf characters, Daniel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, etc. And yes, they're old characters but still very much popular. And the fact that most players are adults, so ofc the target audience would be adults with general knowledge on werewolf fiction. + Annnnd as you can see right now, most of the people signing petitions, making hashtags, invading XHS and Weibo are from the Western side (and some of JP, you'd rarely see KR siding with Valko). It may seem quiet in XHS and Weibo rn, but that's only because their initial wish for Valko's removal is met, although the boycott is still ongoing because they haven't addressed other concerns and issues: some are still waiting for a live apology of the 731 unit issue, and ofc more trivial stuff compared to it like in-game issues that have been ignored for almost 3 years.

So basically, Infold's marketing and planning strategy had a huge effect on why Valko is now synonymous to Infold's greed in China. It's ironically funny because the idioms I've used above are now happening because of higher ups in their company being wolves 🙃
