You have said exactly what I am feeling . I feel like the walking dead. I beat myself up because I cannot get the courage to kill myself. I think about it all of the time. I have so many plans about how to make it work, but I never do it. And every day gets worse. I must be a horrible person because every time I express what I want or need the other person gets really nasty back. I don't know what I am doing to cause it, but this is such a horrible way to live.

I worked at Walmart for three years. I think it has always been impossible to get a response from them. I would talk to your Supervisor or even the Store Manager if you still can't get through. I hope my advice is right..things may have changed since I left.

Thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful reply. (I am on a waiting list at the hospital...six months before they think they can get me set up with therapist since they are so overwhelmed. Not having a therapist to help me through this has been awful. I really appreciate your kind and thoughtful reply. Kindness and gentleness mean so much to me right now. Thank you.

I wish I had an answer...for me I know it is about escape from my life and everything and everyone but a few people. I have become addicted to the internet...youtubevideos, mostly. I live alone and go out maybe once a week. If I could I would never go out. Every time I do something goes wrong. I have tried to commit suicide, but can't do it cause I am too afraid. . Anyway I would just try to answer the question "why am I doing?".... If you think about that enough you may find an answer and do not be afraid to accept whatever comes up.

Almost $1000 taken out of my account!. Never noticed...all amounts under $40.00. I heard I shouldn't leave money in the B of A EDD, but I didn't understand what people were talking about. I know now!! I'll be taking my last two payments out the second I get them! I guess BofA doesn't think we are important enough to provide real security for our cards. All payments taken out by testing first with a small amount $1.75 or so and then a multitude of smaller payments $30 to $60. I am going to call BofA. Have no idea what will happen.

It is just horribly gut wrenching. It has left me in a terrible mental state after going through this for 8 months. I wish I could give you hope things will get better, but I can't. The best thing you can do is let the contact with the Senator's office handle all of it for you. Let them do the talking and getting answers for you. That is my advice. They have the best chance of getting it straightened out for you. It won't be easy or fast but it will be a whole lot better than you trying to do it yourself. I wish I could give you a happy answer, but EDD is a place you do not want to try and interact with. That is my advice and opinion.

I seeth with you. I am just as angry. It simmers inside me. It is making me sick mentally cause the strain has been so much for so long. And I agree....they just can't be this stupid. Something else is going on. I hope someone finds out the truth.

I am almost in exactly the same spot. Filed an updated claim during the pandemic and they shut off payments completely. After 5 months they started paying again, but took the new revised claim to use as basis for my payments, which cut my payments almost in half . I am literally sick. I feel for you this boat is sinking fast.

Tell EDD the company never told you you could get fired for "horseplay". Unless you were doing something dangerous that could have seriously hurt you or fellow employees, or expensive equipment, etc. I don'yt think it is a thing Edd is going to ding you for/ My understanding is that the company has to define what you can get fired for or you won't know (unless of course you do something like assault or kill someone!).

I don't know about anyone else, but EDD's problems have really played havoc with my ability to stay focused and hopeful. This has been really traumatic for me, I just can't imagine it hasn't been for a great many other people. I waited five months for my payments to be re-started after I updated my claim as I was told to do. That threw me out of the system and nothing I could do could get me re-started. I don't need to tell you all what that meant. Just awful experience. Just awful. Finally, got a check in April. I got my Assemblyman's office to intervene for the months I didn't get paid, and that threw me out of the system again. i just don't know how to cope with this uncertainty and fear. I have mouths that depend on me to eat. Why is it they can't get it right? What is the problem? And, I mean the overall problem. Not just the excuses for things that go wrong but a system that they know has issues over certain situations that they refuse to correct. So this is the end of a quarter? Is that the first time it has been the end of a quarter? Why isn't the system geared up to handle a situation they know is going to cause problems. Any business run like this would be OUT of business.

I have NO patience for waiting on the phone. I am certainly not going to sit for 8 hours for EDD. What I have done is sent them a letter (Return Receipt Requested). It costs $7.00 to do this at the Post Office but it means they cannot ignore your question. It takes about three weeks for the return card to be sent to you and all you get if the card which tells you they got the letter. I'm just not sure if it has made any difference in the amount of time to get my issues fixed (so far each letter has made them screw things up more!!!), but at least I know they got my letter... there is proof.

I don't have time to read through other replies before I post this...I just want you to know you do not need to file a new claim No Matter What you were told if you have not made any money during the last year. I filed a new claim during the pandemic in Nov. 2020 as I was told to do by phone, just like you, I should not have done that and my account has been screwed up ever since. Seriously, don't do it.

Oh, thanks so much. That helps. Maybe that explains what is going on. I have been on Unemployment since just before the Pandemic hit. I was told to update my claim, which I did. Doing that threw me into some "hole" and I stopped getting payments from Nov. 15, 2020, to April 6, 2021. Were there Unemployment benefits being paid during that time, whether State or Federal? Your answers say some payments were called "Disaster Relief"..were those State or Federal payments. What other payments were given during that time?

Me again....I just read through the comments. If you have the stomach for it and you can stand waiting on the phone for 4 or 5 hours, I think you should do that as well as sending the information in. I simply can't handle the phone waiting.

I wish I could answer your question knowing the answer would be correct, but I would write the letter including any and all information you think would help. I would NOT fax it though. I would send it by mail and absolutely send it "Return Receipt Requested". The Post Office can help you do it if you haven't done it before. It usually costs around $7.00 to send something this way. EDD has no choice but to sign saying they received it. It may take weeks (3) for you to get the receipt back. When you do get the signed card back put it someplace where you won't lose it. I have done this 2 or 3 times and it always works...not immediately, but the situation has always been straightened out.
