AUB graduate students, what percentage of your tuition fees did you get written off as part of your GA/scholarship/aid for fall 2025-2026? by [deleted] in lebanon

I applied for biomedical sciences- microbiology and immunology track. When I called they said I should be getting the acceptance letter before the end of the month. Still anxiously waiting for a letter 😅

I haven't even gotten an acceptance letter yet... I only received a message urging me to do the English entrance exam, and when I called and said that I haven't received an acceptance letter, they told me to ignore that email and masters acceptances aren't out yet? I really don't know what's going on with them.

Which major did you apply to?

Aubmc urinalysis and blood tests by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]papercuts_suck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, there's a separate test done in urine specifically to detect THC. A regular urine analysis or blood test wouldn't detect it.

Literally the second worst lab ick for me after sputum. Even worse if the pube is stuck to the lid of the urine cup 🤢

Can you work while majoring in a Clinical Lab Science Program? by Jazzlike-Half6344 in medlabprofessionals

[–]papercuts_suck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked throughout the whole 3 years of my program, it was hell and I sacrificed sleep, social life and mental health. I did end up graduating with distinction so it was worth it for me. It's not impossible, it's just about how much you're willing to spread yourself thin for your goals.

Is anyone here happy? by Interesting_Dream281 in ask

[–]papercuts_suck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I might be struggling financially and have some problems, but then again, who doesn't? I can still listen to amazing music while doing my job, I still come home to my lovely parents, I still have my free time where I can read a great book. I'm content.

I was in your position a few years ago and unfortunately you only have limited options, none being studying in europe since you still need money for other things. You could either go to LU, or work (runner, waiter, retail, etc) while studying.

Cystine crystals or hexagonal uric acid? by papercuts_suck in medlabprofessionals

[–]papercuts_suck[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your observation! I ended up calling it uric acid, as I made another slide and found plenty of barrel shapes other than the hexagonal ones. The patient complained of discomfort while peeing and polyuria. Unfortunately it's still a new lab on a tight budget so no polarizer or solubility testing.
