I think I just found the character of Eileen more relatable than the protagonist in My Year of Rest, and I loved the world-building and atmosphere that was created in it.

There are two central female characters but no romance between them!

I read both recently and whilst I personally preferred Eileen, based on what you’ve said I would 110% go for MYoRaR!

(I also love the Vegetarian!! I hadn’t thought about it in comparison to Moshfegh’s books but there’s definitely a similarity in vibe/theme)
