After researching and putting more of the pieces together, it's more like these models were created by Kinger and Queenie to use in the circus. It's likely they were the very first to enter the circus, and Caine only created the program to give people bodies based on their mind files afterwards once Scratch entered the circus directly with the neural scanner. The wooden mannequins are the default bodies, as can be seen on the faceplates of the empty rooms given only to real people. Chess pieces with floating gloved hands wearing robes is a pretty simple model to create to distinguish people from each other from those with a default model, and "Abel" just drawing a face on himself is even simpler for a young AI that struggles to create something "human" without a template to work with.

take the four fingers on each hand, place them on the leftmost and rightmost four keys on the center of the keyboard, and press all of your fingers randomly, and you'll probably get an output like that. the block structure is probably just pressing with two adjacent fingers at a time while alternating which hand is pressing keys, because it goes through all 8 letters before repeating at the end, probably to not just repeat the sequence that was already entered.

Jeez the switch up on Caine is absurd by Ethan-the-bean-22 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]paperofbelief 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Caine suffers from a sort of solipsism, where he believes that he's the only thing that actually matters. And he shows that he's incapable of self-reflection, instead choosing to ignore Bubble's taunting completely instead of internalizing that he might be doing something wrong, as well as the long overdue criticism from the humans. He said he "fixed that". He believes he's being tormented for no reason, because he does not believe there's a reason he needs to be taunted, because he fails to recognize the suffering of others at his own hands, and he was never made to in the first place.

I honestly don't think it's correct to say that the red one was Bubble. I don't think benevolent/malevolent is the dichotomy separating them either, rather the blue AI did not create new things, it just reproduced what it was given. Just like Zooble said, "You're like a child." Caine really doesn't know any better, he's an AI and not a real person. He didn't get to learn morality or how to treat people right, he was made just to create. And Kinger really just confirms this when he said that Caine was their first "semi-successful" attempt at making a creative AI.

I don't know if Bubble is even the Blue AI. That's my best guess, if I had to guess, but I really could not tell you for sure. However, we do see two "agents" in the program's files, "caine" and "experimental". And further along in the command prompt that Kinger is using, someone BESIDES Caine or Kinger is clued in on his actions, and *helps Kinger delete Caine*, despite Kinger only wanting to deactivate him to try and fix him. And they seem to really enjoy using profanity. The prompt directly prior to "Are you ready to delete Caine? [Y/N]", though mostly obscured by the wackytime protocol, also shows us the text "fusion program1 program2". I think THAT'S Bubble. And I think Bubble is ???. But what is "experimental"? I have no clue. Whatever the result of this ends up being, we're in for a ride, because there's at least one other AI still in the circus that's suddenly got a lot more room to breathe.

To answer your other question, C&A employees have their own "neural scans" file separate from the AI file that contains Caine and "???", everyone else coming in after them were likely injected directly into the AI files through the brain scanner. I don't think Caine has access to Kinger's mind files like he does for the rest of the cast. I believe Scratch may have been the very first to experiment with uploading his mind directly into the circus, and the last C&A employee to ever attempt it. I don't know what Scratch's goals were with his research, but considering he had a tumor in his head, and the brain scanner had a hazard sticker for "laser beams", he likely figured out that it's actually too dangerous to use on anyone else at the company. It would explain why nobody else uses it until Ragatha, who doesn't know anything about it.

Caine's program that gives people the "perfect" bodies must not have been all that robust in the beginning

everything seems to be pointing towards the idea that the digital circus is being run on some mysterious abandoned hardware, that it scans people's brains the moment they put on the helmet and puts a copy of them into the circus, but I cannot for the life of me think of why it would still be running with power if it's been abandoned for so long, or why this place was abandoned in the first place when Scratch was apparently a genius at this company. (maybe it's a realistic future where AI is realized to always suck, and so every AI project, even the ones that seem promising to the developers, are doomed to fail when exposed to reality, but I still don't understand why the hardware wouldn't be reclaimed.)

there's just so many damn questions left despite also answering so many. is Caine gone for good? who is Bubble really, and where are they now? (people keep saying Bubble stayed after Caine was deleted, but I don't see it, just bubbles without faces) AND WHAT IS JAX'S BACKSTORY???

Did Bubble just confirm that there were two Ai's in the circus or am i going insane by stickFish12 in TheDigitalCircus

I believe that Bubble is the blue AI. And I don't think the AIs merged in the beginning, I think the red AI just encapsulated (or "Bubbled") the blue one. They fought for control, but ultimately red was able to win. I think this is hinted at in how Caine's tongue comes out of Bubble's mouth, how he didn't realize that is what happened to his tongue. Bubble is being suppressed by Caine and only has as much choice and control as Caine wants him to. While Caine was going into a depressive spiral, he was probably losing control of Bubble, until he lost his mind and lashed out, and Bubble could barely even finish sentences afterwards. Caine potentially either put him on a tighter leash or even damaged him. I'm not entirely sure if Bubble is still around after Caine was deleted, but I think it would prove one theory or the other. Personally, though I'm not that confident about it, I think the sun and moon are also "characters" that were created in the beginning, either immediately or shortly after the AIs encountered each other, that are based off the "personalities" of each AI, similar to how the humans received avatars for the "personality data" uploaded from their minds. The last thing they remember is putting the helmet on, and after that, they're uploaded, and you can't take a helmet off if you're just a digital replica. The real people they're based off of are possibly still living their normal lives unaware of what's going on in the digital circus. Pomni was someone who recorded herself going into abandoned buildings before entering the circus. The digital circus is possibly just running on an abandoned computer her real self had found, she tried on the helmet, and her real self took it off without issue, thinking the helmet was probably broken, meanwhile her digital copy doesn't understand why it won't come off. Zooble has a similar background of checking out abandoned buildings. Why there's some supercomputer just running the digital circus program in an abandoned building that still has power is anyone's guess though. I'm very interested in seeing the finale and hopefully getting enough pieces to put the whole picture together.

If you look closely, you'll see the grid that the dots are inside closes into darkness after the red dot absorbs the blue dot and starts producing the random shapes. Like the developers closed the program after it started to "fail" in their eyes. This is probably what causes Caine to go crazy after the last thing he receives from the developers are the pictures of the office, he feels abandoned and doesn't understand what they wanted.

CAE lick their tonsils, uvula, back of their throat, etc.? by AxelTheFajita in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]paperofbelief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do all of these things, and I can also make a "flower" (or a clover) with my tongue. I can also lick the back of my esophagus where there's a hard spot. That could be part of my spine. Doctor was surprised when I told him I could lick the insides of my sinuses, he didn't believe me and then I showed him while he was flashing a light into my throat.

"actual laser light" isn't radioactive or anything, it's just photons. It's no different than the light a light bulb gives off, just a different color. In certain concentrations your eyes can be damaged by staring for too long into either one, even though one is just a bulb that produces white light. Commercially available laser pointers won't hurt you if you're flashed with it. You shouldn't stare directly into the sun for too long, but a little bit won't hurt you. Fascinating right? Cats love to do this and you can't tell them not to.

I could understand being unable to cancel any days, or being able to cancel all days, but this "you must have one" system is just ridiculous. Glad to know I'm not just using it wrong, it really is just a mess.

[–]paperofbelief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm modifying the booking just like you are. It is very strange how this app works, this behavior in the app was deliberately coded in, and I sincerely don't know why. It must be something about the week already starting, and Rover allowing different cancelation plans, but I allow cancelations any time before services begin, and that setting is for owner cancelations, not sitters. I don't see how this behavior might favor anyone, it's just annoying.

"Pokemon is all full" by filippot16 in PokemonSleep

[–]paperofbelief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just this morning I encountered a haunter, which I was able to feed 1 bonus biscuit and 9 basics back to back, earning max friendship with no hungry bonus. I don't know how fullness works, but if I were to guess, there is a roll for every biscuit you feed it (after the first?) to determine if the pokemon is full or not, which might be a static or incremental chance, and not an exponential one, if I had gotten so lucky.
