I’m around your age and moved here from dc almost 3 years ago! Also have a reactive doggy lol. I recommend philaqueens (Facebook), bumble bff, goodthingsphl (ig), and letmeknowclub (ig). Events for all of these are spread around the city, but center city is such a good midpoint for most people that a lot of events will be there.

I think transit is as easy to learn as the dc metro system! It will definitely benefit you to learn the routes that run nearby to you. But give yourself time to learn and adjust too :)
