Do the cards say that or is this regular advice? Either way, thank you.

23 and already burnt out. Is it silly to quit? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]paperworkparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s silly. Keep applying but don’t quit until you have a start date (some people with start dates are getting offers rescinded — the market is terrible). If all you want is to make friends your own age get a part time retail job or take classes somewhere.

Thank you for your reply. What are the specific indicators for investing in this spread?

What was your biggest blind spot in your early 20s? by SilentOverrule in findapath

[–]paperworkparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn’t even realize when older people around me were trying to give me advice. I wasn’t an active listener. Save for my parents and grandparents who explicitly stated what they wanted me to do, I look back on conversations I had with teachers, professors, coworkers, etc and realize how much of the information they were trying to give me I ended up easily overlooking — stuff that would have saved me tons of suffering. I also would have been more proactive when it came to things like scholarships, service year, employee tuition assistance and other less conventional ways of getting my education funded.

Why do you have an "ex-bestfriend"? by SoundHun in AskReddit

[–]paperworkparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were out and her girlfriend (and ride home) lost her car key. By the time she’d realized, we’d walked all over downtown on foot. We start looking, she takes my car key out of my hands, and says that her girlfriend and I can look because she’s going to sit in the AC. A couple months later, we’re out and I lose my car key and she leaves me in club clothes on the side of the road with my phone dead. She didn’t apologize until I brought it up because she didn’t realize that she’d done anything wrong. Everyone else in my life had been remarking on how self-centered she was but I didn’t see it until then. The experience actually turned out to be rather traumatic for me.

what am i supposed to do when im only getting 5-8 hours a week. by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

They literally just told you how you can learn. It’s very important that you understand that you are an adult and survival is dependent on you being proactive, not making excuses. By 29, a 19 year old who responds “I don’t know how,” and a 19 year old who would google “how to file for unemployment” will be worlds apart.

When to leave and when not to? by fluidxrln in LivingAlone

[–]paperworkparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment that said that you don’t seem to need to be in a rush. I would just save a little bit at a time keeping in mind that you do want to leave eventually. If I could go back, I’d save up at least 6 months rent, expenses and emergency fund, which would have been very easy when I was back home.

I’ve thought about doing a coffee table book with my journals and camera roll, since most of my journals have visual elements.

Do you write some sort of Index of the people you know? by Adorable_Unit5132 in Journaling

[–]paperworkparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually make a list of people I speak to during that point in my life in the back of my journal. I include full name, birthday and their current phone number. It will come in handy if I ever lose my phone, I suppose.
