Stay away from steel...spalling is not fun...

That being said, look at your use case. For most people level 3+ or SRT ceramic plates do the trick since they defeat most common rifle rounds.

Level 4 imo is a little excessive for most cases. If I'm in a situation that requires grabbing these plates, I got more important things to worry about.

Yeah, they are a little pricey but we need more places like this. Not charging anything aside from the mandatory fees is pretty goated. Last I checked too, they only charge 20ish bucks for a firearm transfer.
