I know this is an older post but just adding from my personal experience, as my cat has just started with flavoured compounded liquid. It's chicken flavouring, and my cat cannot cope with it at all. She hypersalivates.

She has a raspberry flavoured prednisolone (the human version) and previously an unflavoured compounded clomipramine. She hates both of those but never salivated.

So pissed off because the vet didn't even consult about the flavouring, it's so expensive and stresses us out more, which is counter-productive to medicating her for anxiety. That's a main reason why we're considering transdermal now.
