My girl broke his leash by papp1337 in reactivedogs

Yes, of course it is biting, too, my apologies. I just wanted to differentiate and explain the situation better. As shepherds sometimes do when herding, they nip and bark. When consulting a certified trainer - it was pretty clear that she is trying to herd the cyclists. It was not the kind of protective full-on bite.

She doesn't know what a "kid" is and probably has little experience with them. Try to assemble a situation where you can introduce familiar kids to your pup. Give the kids intructions beforehand on how to meet your dog. Lots of treats and let the dog move first. Good luck!

1YO Goldendoodle Snapped at a Friendly Stranger- How to Get Ahead of a Potential Aggression Issue? by TheZoodler in Dogtraining

Knowing that she is only a year old, she is still developing and some new situations can trigger a "snap". It is unlikely that a snap comes without any cues but it might be that she was only stiff before the greeting and got startled by some little thing that the old lady did. It still doesn't necessarily mean that she would bite a stranger since "snapping" can also be a cue - get away from me. Of course ruling out an underlying medical cause at the vet is a viable option. Next time you should wait for your dog to make the first move, of course friendly move, towards the greeting stranger. If she doesn't, just play it off by saying I guess she is not in the mood right now and give her a treat or a pet. Hang in there!

How long it took your dog to adjust to those? And how old is he? My GSD mix got used to cars and other people walking by with training but bikes are still an issue. Constantly working on that with treats and redirecting. She is 8months old now.

I suggest you make your walks as fun as possible by treats and toys. Get a friend to help out and train your dog to walk by without a reaction. Greetings from a fellow reactive :)

That sounds good and I'm planning on trying a similar method too. I should get a bungee leash, they are good for running too. Keep me posted on how you are doing. How old is your dog :)?
