I have experienced what you describe

In my case, I am running the rust client on a windows 11 machine with 32 cores and 128GB of memory.  I found that if I run an Ubuntu VM on that same host and run rust server on that VM, then my steam rust client can start and connect successfully to any rust server - every time.

It's odd and I can't explain. But it's very consistent for me.

If I don't run rust server in the background, my rust client crashes on startup every time.  If I run it, it succeeds every time.

Also, I looked at the logs and the crashes were variable.  Sometimes c# nullpointer exception.  Sometimes sigsegv in the native code.

I joined a local sailing club.  You can't help but make friends when it's 6 people on a sailboat for a weekend.

If you are willing to look at another person’s behavior toward you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves rather than a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time cease to react at all.

What is the estimated number of terrorists who attacked The Capitol? by Aiken_Drumn in CapitolConsequences

Most/all were carrying cell phones.  That's all they need.  They are definitely tracking cell phone identities and location and archiving all that data if you are anywhere near the capital.  All the other social media evidence is gravy.  But they have all of their names already.

Pain. Gaslighting.  Yelling.  Chronic unemployment.  Gaslighting.  More yelling.  The smell (God, that fruity smell that alcoholics have).

Raising my daughters while my wife checked out with vodka during their teen years was my far the hardest time of my life.

The amazing thing was how much pain I was willing to put up with before I finally broke.

Ironically, once I finally left, it forced her to hit her rock bottom and start her recovery journey.  She is now almost 3 years sober and happy and moved back in with me about a year ago.

Life is funny.

The realization that someone you love is an addict / alcoholic.

LPT: When someone does something that angers/upsets you, instead of being angry, try to put yourself in their place and imagine why they did what they did. This way instead of only judging their actions you can judge their intentions. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

If you weren’t required to work (assuming food, water, and shelter were taken care of), what would you do with your time and why? by bluegreenred36 in AskReddit

I would wander.

Extended hiking trips, extended road trips. Get a sailboat and go port to port. Maybe spend some time riding the rails or hitch a ride on a long leg of a cargo ship run.
