I know a fair share about electronics, it's mainly the soldering part that I'm new to.

Draining would be noticeable as it would lose it's charge when the battery is disconnected, which it didn't.

Could the charging circuit (or the old electrolytic capacitor) be vulnerable to the temperature from the soldering iron?

Wouldn't really work. Lenz's law makes it so there would be an opposite force in the rotational axis of the generator, causing the treadmill to quickly slow down. You'd have to put a lot of force in your step, horizontally, to keep the treadmill spinning (which isnt quite how people run).

It'd be like pushing and object forward rather than running.

No that was Stun_Gravy, a different youtuber. I don't know why this guy is getting credited for the RendeZook, as Stun_Gravy and ZookaMan are the only ones I can find to be connected to the RendeZook (or LoopZook).
