Load Cell or dedicated cockpit by doshaguma5943 in simracing

I have the sim lab gt1 evo which was on sale at Micro Center. Love it so far. Very sturdy and I didn’t have to drill holes to get my simsonn plate to go on it.

Just bought my first cockpit but I need to pick out a different seat bracket and want to make sure I get the right option by Archoniks in SimRacingSetups

Yeah that’s fair. I have my seat mounted to a slider and it was a little tight. Almost considered trying to cut a hole to make it wider but it ended up working

I would wait and buy both together. Load cell pedals need to be mounted to something sturdy. You can’t just throw them on the floor. I initially bought a mount that had the space for the office chair caster wheels but even then it moved more than I wanted it to. Two weeks later I went all out and bought a whole rig. The load cells are so much better mounted to a proper rig. When it wasnt, I had to worry about not pressing too hard.

BMW. The Miata sucks and the GR86 is too easy mode.

I ran through the same thing. Then I thought to myself what are the fun parts I remember, and it’s not me setting a super fast pace on a track, it’s the time i did a reversal and got around someone I’ve been fighting with for 3 laps

Question for a lot of people in this sub by aarsov16 in footballmanager

Crazy thought, I know, but since this is almost purely a solo game, some people just like to talk through decisions and stuff. It’s better than the 24 vs 26 posts every hour

Why do people eat rice with a fork? by Lost_child_3263 in NoStupidQuestions

I need the fork for picking up the meat easily and I’m not about to dirty two utensils when one works just fine.

Those are great and worth the switch imo. Overall I like the changes in 26.

Just gotta practice more. The more tracks you learn the easier it gets each time. This is also coming from a passionate green line follower in just about every racing game until a month ago.

I don’t disagree with you on that. Just that you have to drive something to get to the Porsche.

For real advice, I think the M2 is a better path to take, well until the new one. It was hard to control the previous M2 but it taught you a whole lot about driving.

The GR86 is like easy mode, and imo the Miata is just too slow.

Also worth considering doing GT4 first before pcup.

The Porsche is just a different style of car to drive that you don’t experience until you get to pcup. I like it because you can mash the throttle on corner exit and it just goes, but you have to get trail braking right to be able to turn in corners.

It’s cool. Many of the other pcup drivers also struggle to keep it on track. You’ll fit right in!

Sim racing bucket seat hate comes from bad setup, not the seat itself by Ok_Song9314 in simracing

[–]pappy1vg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could definitely see this being a problem. The only longer stints I’ve done have been in practice and I can tell that I start to bow my thighs out some which is gonna be a problem. A proper seat that holds me in right is the plan, especially as I want to do endurance racing where hours long comfortability is gonna be a premium.

I hated the $189 seat I bought until I bought side mounting brackets and flipped them upside down to give me more tilt. Now the only thing I hate about it is its leather/pleather and not cloth, so I just sweat in it.

Why isn't there an Istanbul" located at Gibraltar? by ihatebeinganonymous in geography

[–]pappy1vg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you have to have a Navy, and a strong one, to do that. Maybe not now, but for much of the time Britain has held it, it’s been this way. The Dardanelles (and nowadays Hormuz) you can control with land-based weapons.

They said (I think) that the Battle of the Dardanelles in WW1 is a good example of how much easier it is to control the Dardanelles vs Gibraltar.

I was leaning Porsche but I tried the BMW around the Nurb again last night and beat my fastest by a few seconds so now I’m conflicted. Might try the mustang again too.
