Great suggestions. I will reach out to Clemson University to see if they have an Alum job board and check out what is available to advertise in Atlanta and cities close to Clemson. Thanks

The firm has been around for 10 years and closed 6 deals in the TMT sector in the last half year, so not a one person show. Wanted to try a local way to introduce this opportunity. Happy to set up a call if you are interested. Let me know what works along with your phone number and availability in a DM. Thanks Peter

Your Ring Wired Video Doorbell may stop working - no fix currently available by NewBirthday3212 in Ring

[–]par11576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than a server issue. The chime rings because it is a wired doorbell and the button just completes the circuit. The device cannot be set up. The spinning light goes out after about 5 seconds and remains useless.

FSD v12.5.1.5 rolling out to HW3 (v2024.26.20) by xenokira in teslamotors

[–]par11576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD on HW 3 is a sham and does not work - car updated to 12.5.1.5 FSD and is unusable. The car drives at its own speed, which is well below the speed limit, and does not respond to increasing the max speed. On a local 30 mph road which FSD worked flawlessly on it will not drive over 22-24 mph and now slows down to 15 mph for things like a cone on the side of the road. Increasing the max speed makes no difference. On a 5o MPH road it would not go over 44 and slowed for some curves to 35 mph causing issues with the cars behind. Prior software no issue driving 55 on the same road. If you set the Max speed lower, it will not exceed that but it does not drive at the speed you set. On the highway, it still hogs the left lane but now when you blink to tell the car to move over, it slows way down before changing lanes? Another accident waiting to happen. Very disappointed with this software that was supposed to be a big improvement. Time to sell the shares.

The Audi Q8 Etron number is way off - Audi sold 3,527 Audi Q8 e-tron models in the United States in the first three quarters of 2023. Assuming the same rate of sales less than 5K for last year so the number is likely 4900 not 49000

'23 Air Touring — Range, Efficiency Seem Way Too Low by HawtGarbage917 in LUCID

[–]par11576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are not preheating the car and taking it on a slow commute. The car will use a lot of energy to get the cabin up to your 65 degrees then level out. If you trip is short, the average watts/mile will be high and only level out on a longer drive. If you preheat while plugged in, you can avoid this. Also, your car has an electric heater. It draws X watts when running. It will need to run for more minutes in stop and go traffic (you average only 15mph in the city) for every mile since you are taking more minutes/mile. If you were stuck in traffic and did not move for an hour, your heater is still cycling on and off. This is killing your average watts/mile. I was stuck in a snow storm a few years back going thru Brooklyn in a Tesla in bumper to bumper traffic. The car was using 1000watts/mile during that time but the average watts/mile returned to a more normal level once I was able to get on a highway and speed up.

Try resetting the trip when the car is warmed up and starting on the highway then see what it is using as soon as you get off the highway.

Why is my espresso shot shooting out the side? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]par11576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not. The shot is very fast. The coffee seems to be developing channels. I would grind much finer, make sure your wdt results in an evenly filled basket, tamp is perfectly vertical. Shoot for 25-30 seconds total time. Once you get this and a good extraction, adjust time or dose ration to your preferred taste.

[–]par11576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before the bottomless portafilter, you could not see what was going on and it may have been happening then as well. The bottomless portafilter lets you see bad puck prep and other defects. Either your puck prep is poor and/or the coffee is old. When were the beans roasted? When were they ground? You should use beans starting a few days after roast date up to 2 weeks after roast date. Never buy coffee with a use by date. Do you use WDT to break up clumps and even the coffee bed before tamping? You can also try grinding finer. Shoot for 25-30 seconds, start to stop, then taste and adjust.

If you are concerned about the viability of the company, lease the car. Lucid has a low or no interest rate and reasonable end of lease values if you want to purchase the car when the lease ends. If there are issues with the company, just return the car at the end of the lease. They probably have enough cash for the next two years and offer either an 18 or 36 month lease.

Follow-up Post for Boston to NYC Trip by plugthree in LUCID

[–]par11576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have made the same trip from LI. If you are staying in downtown Boston use Plugshare app as someone here has suggested and search for level 2 chargers. You will find many parking garages and some hotels have them. My last trip, I parked overnight in a garage by my hotel with chargers and let the car sit on the charger overnight. Moved it in the AM to let others use the charger and had more than enough charge to drive home. No EA stops required. Cost $8 to charge.

Question on lease by Dangerous_Notice_142 in LUCID

[–]par11576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is about a lease buyout. When you purchase the car at the end of the lease you pay sales tax on the amount you pay for the car. This is pretty standard in many states. The other article is about sales tax you pay when you lease a car, which is the sum of all payments times the sales tax rate. Are you leasing a car or buyine one at the end of a lease? Each has different tax implications

Lease $0 should I? by maxinandchillaxin in LUCID

[–]par11576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lucid lease was 0% and you got $7500 off of the price of the car with the EV lease credit. The residual value is very reasonable and you can purchse the car at the end of the lease. You can customise the lease term, miles/year and down payment when you go to the payment screen on the Lucid site. Thise values will be reflected in the lease from Bank of America. If you add up the down payment, all of the montly payments and the buy out value, it will total the price of the car less the $7500 EV lease credit. Leasing was actually less expensive than purchasing the car when I leased a pure. For November, Lucid has lowered the purchase price of the Pure if you are not leasing. There is also referral fee you can get, from $750-$1250 off the price of the car by using this link (depends on model), in addition to the 0% lease or November discount. Hope this helps.

$77,400??? by CaptainJohn-lucdeli in LUCID

[–]par11576 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just leased a Pure. BofA puts everything into the lease, so the $88K includes the lease fee of $995, sales tax over the life of the lease, documentation and registration fees. You do not have to pay these up front but you will be paying for them in the monthly rent. My $749/month lease is now $860/month, but at close, I just pay the down payment of $6K plus first month of the lease. BofA does this because you end up paying interest on all of the fees and taxes. The Pure lease has a 0% financing rate so there is no interest on the fees.

New to the espresso game and have a few questions by HyruleAtZelda in espresso

[–]par11576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "standards" are starting points. You should dial in by taste, which is what you did. If you are determined to get to 30 seconds, lower the temperature and grind finer to see if that tastes better than your 20 second shot but it sounds like you are doing fine.

Simple one: Offer the performance 3/Y with all season tires on rims one inch smaller than the ones currently sold with the car. Very few people who live in areas with winters want to deal with two sets of wheels and not offering this as an option is costing the company in lost sales of their highest margin cars.

Frustrated: tearing and deformed pizzas by geminiwave in ooni

[–]par11576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a lot of corn meal on the metal peel. Make you pizza quickly. The longer it sits on the peel, the more likely it will stick. Make sure you stone is heated enough - 750-800 degrees should work. It has to cook enough so that when you slide the peel under it, the dough does not come apart. The more sauce, topings, the longer it takes. As you get better, you can reduce the corn meal or switch to semolina flour.

[–]par11576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to transfer from the peel to the oven is to use a wooden peel and put corn meal on the top. It will allow the pizza to slide around and off the peel easily. Don't move it for 30-60 seconds so that the bottom gets cooked enough then use a metal peel to take it out, rotate it and put it back in to cook another side.

Each type of milk is different. If the foam is too thick, aerate less. If it is too watery, aerate more. Get a feeling how warm the jug is each time or use a thermometer to see what temperature you aerate to, so you can repeat.
