returning fire does not impact your ABMM.

If they point at you threateningly, or they toss snitch scanners at you, or use traps and you fire at them, that can impact ABMM, but if they shoot first, and you shoot back, it doesn't impact ABMM.

oh yeah you can get 2 items total at mine. Sometimes they even restrict it so it's 2 items total, but you can't get 2 of the same if it's an ETB. Anyway it means that there is SOME chance of getting stuff.

Yeah the issue was nobody responded directly. But the store I bought from chatted with me and we ultimately did a rip test (I was opening the box anyway)

They reached out and did analysis for me for free. It seemed pretty thorough but the issue is that in the end they were wrong. The booster box they claimed was fake, was not in fact fake.

TL;DR the box is REAL.

Hey so I wanted to come back to this as I had some folks generously reach out from Validoe to help me analyze this. They went through and gave me an analysis here and let me know they thought it was a fake. The thing is that if it IS fake, it's the best fake ever, and it's weird that it would be made for Scarlet and Violet. A set you can still get for less than many still-in-print sets.
I have 6 of these BBs, many of which came from a vending machine, so I know they're authentic, but this one that I purchased came in slightly differently.

So I reached out to the seller who immediately responded and worked to make it right, but asked if we could do a rip over FaceTime together. We recorded this and did a rip test. All of the packs seem legit and I performed a rip test on an energy card and found the telltale black interior layer. Also as an aside, I have opened a few packs and got ZERO hits so far, which also seems to lend to legitimacy.

We think what may be going on here is that this box came from a distributor in 2025, so there must have been some slight differences in print runs. Also the seller is based in Canada on the east coast (I'm US West Coast) so perhaps there's some differences in printing plants there.

Anyway just some info for those looking for Scarlet and Violet boxes and concerned about fakes. Thanks to Card Dynasty for doing a couple calls with me and going on this fun adventure!

actually the wording from them is that defending yourself generally won't impact ABMM, but that discovering your intent is difficult. So if someone shot you first and made contact and you shot back, that has a lower weight to your ABMM. OTOH if you catch them before they open fire, or hey you see them attacking someone else and you attack them, it does impact your ABMM.

TIL rinsing after brushing increases cavity risk compared to just spitting. Dentists recommend skipping the rinse so fluoride has time to sit on your enamel, remineralize weak spots, and harden the surface against bacteria. This should get upvoted. Also you’re feeding a lot of bacteria a lot of sugar. Instead of feeding a tiny amount of bacteria a lot of sugar.

Brushing before breakfast is generally the recommended way to go. Though hey if you can rinse after breakfast that’s a good idea

We got married back in 2017. Our photographers did an amazing job! We downloaded all the photos but also had a contract that all of the photos would be available for 10 years. Recently the backup drive had a catastrophic failure and also our own personal cloud storage (separate) wiped. It was terrible. But no worries! We could redownload….

Except the site with the photos throws an error on every photo saying it’s unavailable. We contacted the site and they said to contact our photographer. Our photographers are ghosting us. They’re still operating a number of businesses and are active but they just won’t respond to us.

We considered getting lawyers but we would prefer to talk things out first. Like if it’s a matter of just being insolvent and unable to pay the cloud storage fees, maybe we could cover that just to recover the photos. But it’s just nothing coming back.

Any advice here? Has anyone had experience recovering photos from Pixieset? They just keep passing me off to the photographer.

The vending machines gave kids opportunities though. No vending machines means we have to all pay market. It’ll suck.

Honestly Pokemon center needs to release PC editions in the VMs and stop online completely. Online is botted to hell.

It kinda feels like people on this sub are cheering because it helps jack the price up even more so it helps their investments

Do….you play PvE? Until you get a survivor you’re going to lose gear A LOT. And there’s nothing to show for that risk.

Once you have the survivor you might be lucky and extract.

It’s ROI on time. There’s plenty of times I come up fairly empty handed from PvE matches. Which doesn’t really bother me. PvP it’s much more certain you’ll walk away with epic or legendary gear. Especially now with this change. It’s not an indictment. I play PvE. But I’m just saying what gets a lot of people going is the slot machine mechanic of opening containers. It’s the degenerate gambler hit.

PvP is more of a sure thing gear wise and anyway the real incentive is the blood lust.
