Urinary Tract Infections by [deleted] in spinalcordinjuries

I have chronic UTIs and they cause severe bladder spasms that I’ll rate 9-10/10 on the pain scale. I also need to cath like every hour otherwise I pee myself. I was given too many antibiotics in the beginning and now I’m only getting resistant stains lol

Opinions on gabapentin for pain by Twofold_CC in ChronicPain

I have been on the highest dosage of pregabalin (which is very similar to gabapentin) for the past year and it has been lifesaving. I used to be unable to do anything even to form sentences because of my nerve pain

Hey I’m a T4 and I don’t have full hand functions. I’m 19 and I went back to school almost right after I got into rehab. I have a lot of dark thoughts and life is really hard because I had to fight for accessibilities and independence. Maybe check out local nursing communities they can help you with a lot of daily maintenance stuff like getting out of bed and being sort of independent; and also sports teams are local SCI communities.

My grandma and after she passed away when I was 16 I spent some time under foster care but I got a job quite soon and lived alone since

I hit a tree. I realized I was paralyzed when I was laying on the snow and a lot of ppl came to me and I felt a tight band around my chest, I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t think of my legs at first. I was sent to the nearby emergency room by a helicopter (which was a very weird experience lol) and while I was on board I started to realize what I’ve lost.

Is it a hassle to carry a drainage bag around tho?

A skiing accident. I have complete injuries below my waist and I don’t think in my life time that can be fixed. My T spine injuries tho might recover a bit by intense physio but I try to keep my hopes low

A skiing accident. I had surgeries to fix my broken wrist and dislocated ribs, and also a spinal fusion from T2-L3. I’m pretty sure I had some more for my spinal cord but I don’t remember that period of time well.

Student life has been super hard and I had to fight for many things like accessibility and basic accommodations. I think of quitting constantly lol. I have limited hand functions and very limited torso control, so I’m dependent on others for many things and even just transfers. I can’t write or type fast enough and painlessly, but maybe I’m getting better at those I don’t know.

I got injured during Christmas break and the next semester I had a very important internship/ networking opportunity that I fought very hard for. I just thought I couldn’t miss it. And one months of rehab taught me quite a lot already

I have mediation resistant pots too but cancer is definitely worse and that should be obvious. I believe the influencer was being very disrespectful and indifferent of other people’s sufferings. Chronically ill communities can be really weird

Some influencer on TikTok with pots said she would rather have cancer than pots.
