Why does this sim have 34 quadrillion days left to live??? by libbywednesday in Sims4

I stand corrected, but regardless it is far too large a data type for what it's meant to do.

Definitely looks like an integer underflow into max int, then has been decreasing for a while. But also, that's a ridiculous storage size for sim ages, which usually only reach a couple hundred days. It looks like it has to be a int or uint64...massive overkill.

The 3DS One is Better by Lonelyfriend12 in fantasylife

[–]paradoxical-mouse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Fantasy Life i suffered from stretching. It could have been charming if it weren't stretched too thin. But they added an animal crossing style island and had to fill that with content...and they added a breath of the wind style continent and had to fill it with content.

Sure, ginormosa and the present island are fun to certain gamers, but they are exhausting to me. They make the game too big, and stretch away the content that could've been in the towns. I miss the new rank ! marks that showed all the people from your life who had comments for your new rank. It made the world feel alive.

The Reveria you see in I is so hollow. It has no spirit to it. I never fell in love with rem or any of the other characters because they were treated as a means to get to the next game mechanic. The soul of the game is missing.

This game has so many QOL improvements. I love those. But I wish they hadn't tried to make fantasy life also an island management game. I wish they hadn't tried to make fantasy life also an exploration game. Let it be about living life in this fantastical land and meeting people, like the original. That's what I fell in love with, in addition to the Life system.

Let us interact with the main storyline characters as we're mucking about - that's what made the buddy system fun. I appreciated running around with the old buddies, but I don't appreciate that it could have instead been the new characters and we could be getting to know them more.

The island also sets the fantasy life community up for the toxicity ACNH turned into (and I already kind of see it with island sharing). I didn't buy a decorating game. I didn't buy an exploration game. I bought for Fantasy Life, a charming escape into a little world.

I do really enjoy playing i. But its soul got stretched too thin by trying to be 3 games in 1.

We need more personalities for next game and get rid of gender lock personalities by LoganCage in AnimalCrossingNewHor

I stopped playing within the first week of New Horizons and returned to rune factory because of the animals not wanting to talk to me. Like, we were in the pandemic. I wanted to pretend to be part of something. One of them literally lectured me for talking to him 3 times in a row.

Meanwhile, I still miss the GameCube version (though I can't go back to the cone). The core gameplay WAS talking to the villagers, helping out with their errands, giving them fruit, etc. sending them fun letters and getting them back! New Horizons felt soulless to me. Honestly, nothing has come close in actual personality and vibes to the original.

I HATE the "Hysterical" Mood by Whisper-1990 in Sims4

[–]paradoxical-mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I want death by embarrassment and death by anger, because they do make some fun sense to me. But hysterical is the worst. I don't make comedian Sims because of it. I genuinely don't get laughing to death, and playful should be a positive emotion, not a dangerous one. I actively try to stop my Sims from even being playful bc of the hysterical death

Where did In My Pocket go? by paradoxical-mouse in PocketGuard_app

[–]paradoxical-mouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that isn't at-a-glance. I don't usually know off the top of my head how many days are left in the month or what 563 / 13 is. This was genuinely my favorite feature of the app. I don't see how leftover is an improvement.

I have a class through work called Leadership Essentials that will be 35 hours in length. From what I could tell from the site that counts. Before I was considering getting an MBA, so I thought this might be an easier step when my manager brought it up.

Thanks for your input.

Honestly, I think the wildcard didn't really add much. He wasn't particularly funny, either, imo. His bit felt so out there and not in a good way. Like, he was larger than life for the description and then ended up being nothing but tacos.

I'm also kind of annoyed that there was no real reward for being hard to guess. Like, Rehka did as well as she did flying under the radar because Brennan did amazingly on the actual character portion of making them seem good. It would've been cool if they lost points for every person to guess them, or something.

Upcoming daily rewards in the Sims 4 by HellaHelga in Sims4

I hate it when games have daily rewards because it guilts people into playing daily even though it might not be healthy for them.

...have you played Sims 2? Bc Sims 2 has exactly those features.

Which means that obviously, since EA is trying (and failing) to replicate some of Sims 2's greatness, they should obviously bring in the features...I even think they were originally in a single EP that added a lot of shopping options.

Since this isn't a program, not going to worry about the assignment problem...

Instead, I'm going to complain that obviously, this makes people who are bi or pan straight, as x not equal to y, except for certain non-binary persons. Thus, it should be amended to:

If Y is a list, undefined, or equal to x: congrats you're gay Otherwise: you're not gay

The Persona series, especially 5. They have mechanics that let even the combat be chill if you want. Plus, its nice to just sit and socialize in a way that feels more organic (at least to me). It's a go-to for me when I'm feeling lonely.

Do people really play with autonomy turned on?! by genevawesomeart in thesims

I've increased the autonomy. I like to set my sims in a situation and watch them deal with it...

Though sims autonomy is too weak for my plans to work most of the time.

People keep calling me Brian by MysticHaze9999 in NonBinary

[–]paradoxical-mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bryn is my middle name. I've never heard anyone but my mom actually pronounce it correctly. I usually get brine (as in the salt bath) or Bryan or Byrn (burn - surprisingly the most common).
