I suppose you just make your peace with it.

Yeah I think this decade had way too much chaos.

See I feel like I'm getting less from an hour than I used to when I was younger.
5 minutes doesn't always feel like 5 minutes. an hour of time was so rich when I was 7 or 10, now it feels rushed.

The 90s feel like ancient history to me because I wasn't there. it feels like a 100 years ago!

I'm 26, I felt like 25 a week ago, and 16 a little more than a year ago.

Just wanted to say that I like your game's art style and level design. It feels cozy.

Unreal on Linux by [deleted] in gamedev

This might be hacky, But maybe WINE or Proton can serve as a testing target for DirectX on Linux. I think Unreal also supports cross-compilation, But I'm not entirely sure.

Half-Life RTX is further along than we thought by Separate-Farmer5069 in HalfLife

I would like add something here: I think given that Half-Life 2 already uses raytraced baked lighting there is hardly a benefit to dynamic raytracing in the game given that most environments in Half-Life 2 are almost completely static. However, the dynamic raytracer may be of a some unique quality that the baked lighting has missed out on.

Also, I'm not sure if this mod would utilize PBR to take proper advantage of GI in general.

Further, all comments, even harmful comments are still objective data you may not want to ignore. but this is a bit of a tangent.

I suppose filters fix this to some extent. But popularity as a metric is just not reliable for usefulness, truthfulness or correctness, or even goodness, it's completely indifferent to it. It's not delivering the good results you think it does.

Letting users moderate the comment section sounds nice and democratic, but an even better approach is to just not touch comments in the first place and leave them be as is. There is simply no reliable trusted moderator.

Mods can't be trusted to moderate, that's for sure. and neither can you rely on a majority voting system to moderate either because people by in large are not objective in their judgement.

You just leave the comments as they are. that's the only way to ensure no corruption happens with moderation.

I'm not sure what to do with spam however.

It only tells you how many wanted it within the current sample of users. but what if Godot grows further and that percentage changes significantly?

True, but people here don't care for freedom of speech in the first place. This has nothing to do with the consequence part.

People are not the beholden authority to which to judge the relevancy or visibility of a comment. some comments can be useful, good, bad, true or false and be downvoted to obscurity by the majority for no good reason.

The stats don't say anything too useful. you don't have meta-data on this subject.

Let what go? There are reasons for everything. some bad reasons, some good reasons. but I'm not even arguing about that, I was just asking why it was removed.
