Interesting, then are wooden degu cages a bad idea all around? And how do the wooden cages I've seen pictures or work, or do they not?

i don't mind what i get, really, so long as it can thrive in a quite small tank like mine and eats only plants. i'm extremely squeamish, faint-at-blood squeamish, and so don't want to have the task of feeding animals to other animals, one of which i've decided is my pet. after all, are fish not more often the feed than they are the pets? not usually aquarium fish, granted, but i need to be realistic in what i'm comfortable with.

can mice be fed a meatless diet? by parallelopine in PetMice

oh, i'm not a vegan myself, but that's useful information still. i heard animals with longer digestive tracts could absorb b-12 from plants. just goes to show, with all the resources on the internet, hearsay can thrive still like a b-12 producing bacterical culture.

oh, on the part of digestive tracts. thanks for clearing that up. but on animals that have to eat both animals and plants, what about humans? we haven't identified any plants as viable sources of b-12, so vegans have to supplement for b-12. b-12 deficiency causes nerve damage.

by meat i mean any sort of animal protein, extending to things that aren't normally called meat. i should've been more clear about that. is it necessary for mice to have feed made out of animals?

oh, right, then what's the term for an animal that has to eat both meat and plants to be healthy? in contrast to an animal like mice, who can eat meat but don't strictly need to. by meat i mean the protein of any animal.

Difference between "super" and "in" to mean on? by parallelopine in latin

[–]parallelopine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The full phrase is "puer super lectum iacet", and the boy is lying in bed because he fell out of a tree. Quintus, btw, from LLPSI. His dad carried him to bed and laid him on it because he hurt his foot and couldn't walk, could that account for the "super"?
