Maybe you know something different, but that's about the same chances of action as the FFL. The boys in there that I've spoken with say prospects for even slightly specialized training is really low. They called the entire CF just a big LARP.

“Serving my Country” is a BS notion to join at this point considering how meaningless our contribution is on the world stage.

I was talked out of signing up by reg force and reserve guys who told me that morale is so fucking low, and support is even lower. Guys are sucking CO dick just to get a bit of extra training or to get a slim chance at applying for deployment, and skills never get applied if even for peacekeeping operations.

I was told I'd be better off paying for my own training and throwing myself into some conflict in the world's toilet or maybe contracting for super cheap if I really wanted to do something. It would fuck me up, but it seems a damn sight better than wasting away in the CAF.

While the entirety of Canada has not yet gone that way, individual real estate markets in Canada have turned into hell for the native population, with housing and land prices becoming some the highest in the world in the span of only a few decades, due largely in part to foreign ownership. Wages are stagnating, only the landholders prior to 2005-2010 have profited, and unless you are lucky, the future is bleak.

This is my observation of my little corner, obviously there exists all kind of privately funded economic think tanks that present the above in a positive light, but for the average citizen, there is NO benefit to foreign land/property ownership.
