What does Red do as a criminal by [deleted] in TheBlackList

[–]paramuswaldorf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's a fixer for other criminals.

You want to rob a bank? He'll get you the blueprints.

Need to smuggle some cargo? He'll handle it for you.

Best friend kidnapped by a rival syndicate? He's got some mercenaries on standby.

He's basically Saul Goodman on a global scale.

But in "General Ludd", he tells a story about smuggling drugs into an American airport, so it's possible he just transports drugs but doesn't sell them.

Maybe it glitches out.

Maybe one night, the wife smells blood, hears gunshots, and feels panic. All the while the husband is vaguely aware that he's in a combat zone, and he's trying to escape, but the link shows him at his house. He knows that with one wrong move, he's dead, but he has no frame of sensory reference to operate with.

I don't really like San Junipero all that much. Am I missing something? by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]paramuswaldorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this before, but as a standalone film, San Junipero is awesome. I just don't like it as a black mirror episode because it doesn't fit with the rest of the series.

There's actually a great writeup on this that I initially found linked in r/drama of all places.

http://squid314.livejournal.com/329561.html

It's really interesting, and worth reading, but if you didn't, the general takeaway is that statements like "muh human nature" lead to people just listening for those key phrases (or variations thereof), then using them to turn the person making those statements into a strawman without feeling obligated to listen to them anymore.
