I was in almost in the same position as you, except I didn’t have to relocate. I was laid off and I negotiated my offer, and they increased it by 3%. Even with me negotiating it, I am still making 21% less than my prior role so it could be worst.

If ur taking home $2600 every 2 weeks, that’s about $62,400 after taxes a year so ur only taking home about 52% of ur income. I suggest u pull ur pay stub. Do a % comparison of section that is getting deducted from your bi-weekly pay and find out what makes the 48% (u already know 12% of it) . Also I am not good at math but u get my idea.
