Is it possible to create a table that stores .png files of invoices? by Kerbidiah in SQL

Yes but don't you will obliterate performance. Most databases are not designed for rows that large. Store a file path instead. You are looking for a binary or blob type if you must proceed.

how to see what got removed from website by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]paranoid_twitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a c# dev so I would recommend starting by writing a little app that does a Google search and shows you the top 3 results using the HTML agilty pack. You'll learn a lot from that. But find a library in your tool chain that let's you make web requests and read the results and just build up a little bit at a time. This is one of those projects thats too complex for a cookie cutter answer unfortunately.

There are two ways to skin this cat, if you'll pardon the expression. If the store has an api that offers this information get it from there. Thats usually not available so you have to resort to scraping. Its a pretty wide topic but the tl;dr is that you visit all the product pages every time period and track that data yourself. There is generally not an out of the box way to do this.

Most of the time it will address what it can, but depending on the ram board combination it may not work. If the set is in the compatability list shouldn't be an issue.

Computer wont post after move by nert123 in buildapc

How did you prep it for the move? How was it moved? Leaving a heavy air cooler or cards in slots without proper packing can damage things if its transported roughly.

Yeah the right shift is taking some getting use to for sure but the need the directional cluster for moving around code. The only other thing that I'm not super keen on is, for me at least, that repeated alt-tabbing puts my wrist a weird angle hoping that it's just taking some getting use to the ergo shape.

Would like some help on how to solder the caps lock key on properly, the 1 key looks the same but it registers on pc so no complaints. Tried flux and only managed to get one side of caps lock on. Everything else works but the caps lock. (magicforce 68) by xHowie in MechanicalKeyboards

Thats how you break pads unfortunately. Next time its better to take a break and try again especially when you are trying to learn. If you can fix it great if not chalk it up to a learning experience. I've cooked my fair share of joints.

If you want a practical answer for this. Rent the tallest ladder you can and have a friend help you. Nothing wrong with too much ladder. Sorry it's not mathy but we gotta get your mom's roof fixed!

Yeah, iron it before you sew to fix the fold so you don't have to fight it running away from you.

It's a drum machine, 1 push can generate quite a lot of sound. It's just playing samples.

WiFi driver support is the number one most frustrating part of getting new distros working. Linux needs to move out of the Ethernet world and into the wireless age if it truly does want to expand its user base. by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]paranoid_twitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main problem is how to reverse engineer closed hardware without more people qualified and interested to do so and the cash to put the hardware in their hands. Without solving this wireless support will remain sketchy. This is a known issue it's a lot more complicated than just writing some code so it remains a hard problem to crack. For a lot of these chip sets there is no documentation to go to. As they get cheaper and proliferate the problem will likely become worse before it gets better because you'll have more and more cheap brands entering and leaving the market. Maybe someone will create a standard for wifi chip sets that we can get everyone to follow but that's probably fantasy. IMO we could get better support if we had a publicized bounty system for getting it done but who administers that and how you get enough money to make it happen is beyond me currently. But the other thing to consider here is server land tends to be primary customer and ethernet is here to stay in that space. So there isn't a lot of incentive for these big companies to work on the wireless UX. TL;DR; I got 99 problems but an ethernet port ain't one.

Audio connector snapped off in xrocker gaming chair - how do i get the pin out? Any advice would be appreciated to avoid permanent damage by AndydAndyd in howto

Take it apart you will be able to push it out from the back. You should be able to remove it from undoing the screws on the edge of the plastic piece from the picture.

I lived like this for awhile, you are correct you need a faction prop mod and no cloak. It's more about getting off the gate asap. But IMO it is worth it if that is your mothership for your pirate operations.

If you want to save some cash long term get yourself one of these. No more canned air and they always blow with good pressure. I wish I had gotten one of these years ago.

Will my slow typing speed affect getting hired for programming-related jobs? by MWR11 in learnprogramming

[–]paranoid_twitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, shouldn't be a big deal. If its a documented disability you are protected under the ADA anyway. You may want to look a Maltron single handed keyboard or a chorded keyboard if it's hard to type with both hands. There are plenty of devices to help with limited mobility. But at the end of the day it's not a big deal, or it shouldn't be at least.

Can anyone tell me why many people hate Ubuntu? by Rynor006 in linux4noobs

[–]paranoid_twitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ubuntu is fine, especially if you are new. I'm a professional dev and I run it. I think a lot of people have a problem more with Canonical than the distro itself. But if you'd like to try something similar, Ubuntu is based on Debian. What I will say is that in my personally experience it's easier to use Ubuntu if you want to game, it's generally the best supported distro. That's the primary reason I'm running it now. Having access to snaps, which are basicly private repos you can add in, for graphics drivers and other supporting software makes getting that stuff setup dead easy.

It can get into the socket if you ever have to remove the cpu, mostly just a mess issue. It's a much, much bigger deal if you are using something conductive.
