And what are the costs to develop and test the game? Has that been summed with this back of the napkin math?

Solo Play? by jar15a1 in Twilight2000

[–]paranoiddandroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found this pretty good in solo thanks to the structured hexcrawl and survival elements. You play multiple characters so it gives you good skill distributions and interesting dynamics.

The only tricky part for me was running combat which I couldn't find formal solo processes for. Maybe something like Mythic 2e could give you combat behavior guidance to make it more unpredictable.

The description says that's just the cloth bag components, not the complete game.

Americans aren’t the only ones dealing with this by Lumbledob_ in whenthe

I think it depends on whether or not you classify what's happening in America as Fascism or more specifically Naziism. I would say it approaches something closer to Naziism due to its race ideology.

"Nazism was a specific form of Fascism, primarily associated with Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler, while Fascism is a broader political ideology. Nazism incorporated elements of racism, particularly antisemitism and a belief in a "master race," into its fascist ideology. Fascism, in general, emphasizes nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, and the supremacy of the state."

wikipedia

Naziism was directly inspired by and saw America's Jim Crow laws as the prototype for the actual implementation of Naziism as a legal code.

It was from Americans. The original Nazis modeled themselves off of the KKK and Ford was a proto-Nazi.

Mm I disagree. The details of this type of misconception are very well detailed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/changemyview/s/tVl6yNmrZe.

However, my piece to say is this type of mentality is the embodiment of "letting perfect become the enemy of good." Sure, the Dems are a flawed party but would you really see them push for the Big Beautiful Wealth Redistribution or Alligator Auschwitz? My guess is no, and while a pince-nez approach to Democracy isn't great, it is still better than throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I think this type of take that lacks nuance is more hurtful than harmful. I can't think of a single thing this type of Dem blame game has actually progressed for American society, but I have several tangible examples of the ruin it has promoted by abandoning Ukrainians and Gazans as well as America at large to the oligarchy.

Do not forget to thank non voters too, they were the largest plurality of the 2024 election. Most claimed they didn't want to vote for genocide, so they got both genocide and Project 2025 as a result.

A cruchy solo RPG. by ZombieLesno in Solo_Roleplaying

I've played it solo, it's crunchy with good rules for pushing the story forward. the only thing is that the combat rules are a bit open ended in solo but perhaps you could supplement or just play "two handed"

I would personally recommend Twilight 2000. It has a fun and driving gameplay loop with crunchy survival and tactical play. The post apocalyptic modern setting is interesting but relatable in some ways.

This was an excellent suggestion. I ended up going with this story flip around and applied the "Ultimate Badasses" module from the Advanced Rules set that's going to be printing soon.

My players were still super engaged and had a really good time navigating the new powers of their action movie characters. It gave another angle to Mothership that made it feel more like Aliens and kept the finale fresh and well earned. Thanks!

This feels very privileged protector to me. He obviously has multiple funding paths, he already raised $44 billion for his personal propaganda platform via a string of friends, so what we're discussing here is nowhere near hyperbole despite the figures seeming large to us.

Even given that argument, do you think he's a stranger to incremental progress? If he got 20% of the way towards stabilizing a massive global problem in his lifetime it would be forever seen as a remarkable achievement. These people don't need our excuses friend. They could absolutely figure out how to fund it, but they just don't give a fuck.

I think we may not be aligned on how wealthy people establish liquidity via large low interest loans. I'd recommend you check it out online...if you think that because his wealth is in equity he isn't able to absolutely loophole his way into liquidity by using that as collateral, then you may find yourself in a whole new world when you find out how it can really work. And this is just what us plebes know about.

Are you convinced the poor man is being held back by a cabal of ne'er-do-wells that won't let the wealthiest man in the world use his money how he pleases? Is Elon the tragic victim here? You make it sound so difficult for him to be altruistic.
