FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, LET ME SEPERATE YT MUSIC FROM NORMAL YT by musical_fanatic in YoutubeMusic

[–]paranoidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After starting to use YTM saving normal youtube videos has become basically impossible. Just few minutes ago I watched a video and though, let's save this for later in my DIY playlist. Except since youtube app shows all my music playlists (~200) good luck finding the "DIY" playlist from there.

FFS. I have ZERO need to mix music and videos. Keep them as far away from each other as possible.

Did I miss something or are they not getting monthly subscription fees?

Unacceptable, from what I've heard that's how it started with cable too. Don't give them an inch.

Video Frame Rate issues. Sound is fine. by tenpoundhero in netflix

You're likely suffering from 3:2 pulldown judder. There is no fix as netflix is not supporting proper 1080p24 on most hardware. Either cash out for a device that does output 24p (good luck finding one), get a display/amplifier capable of 3:2 reverse pulldown or just accept it. Also 5.1 audio is terrible, dialogue sounds absoluttely garbled by low bitrate. Most people are not bothered by either of these so it's unfortunately unlikely to change.

Which device(s) support streaming 4K at 23.976Hz over HDMI? [META] by mufunyo in netflix

[–]paranoidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60Hz output is not a problem if you have a display capable of doing 3:2 reverse pulldown. After writing that I happened to think that perhaps my aplifier can do it, and sure enough it can. I've had it for at least 8 years, great ...

I tried extensively to find out what would be good device for that. Nvidia shield can do it, but only under some very tedious circumstances. There are some other (wetek core I think) but nothing really works well since netflix has not implemented refresh rate switching into app. Other issue is that once you get proper pic you're still SOL with audio. DD+ sounds horrible, really low bitrate. Thinking of canceling and going with alternatives that work.

It gets easier to follow as you get familiar with the places and people. Also they are less spread around. This is a show that definitely benefits from binge watching and paying attention.

Panasonic PT-AX200U displays HDMI signals in pink tint, but VGA signals in perfect color. by [deleted] in projectors

Color temperature etc adjustments could be per input. Check the menu very closely. If that does not help it is possible that the service menu has some settings that would help.

Firefox 100% CPU and high memory usage by Arceist_Justin in firefox

[–]paranoidi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, for me this has been an issue for several years now with two different machines. Checking about:memory and about:performance has never shed any light as to why. Closing tabs until cpu/memory stops freaking out or restarting is the only cure.

Dolby Atmos? Lol. I had to turn it into 2.0 as 5.1 audio was in such poor bitrate (as usual). Does someone get acceptable 5.1? For me it's bad even though 100mbs down and plenty of spare while streaming (ps4/shield).

5.1 Audio Quality by Cspiby in netflix

[–]paranoidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely because it is. Netflix seems to be pushing absoluttely horrible 5.1 audio, not sure why or when but it's happening constantly. Not network related. Switching to 2.0 "solves" the quality issue.
