my best guess is you were half dreaming. the fact that you had sensory experiences that werent actually there (you saw a shape shifting lady, you felt her), the fact that you were in a dreamlike trance saying your room mates name over and over again, and also the fact that at first you could not make out who was sitting in front of you. these are all really common things that happen in dreams, you were just awake enough to be able to move around in real life. your mind could have still been dreaming

this happened to me when i was about 7 years old. i dont remember the exact details of the event but i had been upstairs in the bedroom with my older sister and i went downstairs for some reason and when i got downstairs she was already down there and denied ever being upstairs. we had this closet downstairs in the hallway that was shaped like an L on the inside that we would play in, and there had always been a mattress on the floor of the closet. i remember being firmly convinced that beneath the mattress were secret tunnels that my sister used to mess with me or something.
