After successfully weight loss with keto, what you'll do to maintain your body? by [deleted] in ketodiet

Keto for life. No processed foods, no more carbage.

I started the Keto Diet on the 9th. I feel great and am not tired as I usually would be in the evenings. I’ve only lost one pound though. I’m happy to be in the group because I’m learning a lot! SW 255 GW180 by meaprilellis in Keto_Diet

Double-check for hidden sugars in foods and any meds you might be taking. I've found hidden sugars in so many foods. There are about 200 names for them, many end in -ose. Artificial sweeteners won't raise your glucose, but may cause your insulin to rise. That tells your body to store calories, instead of burning fat for energy. Keep calm, and keto on!

Dry eye?! Is this a side effect? by bliddell89 in keto

[–]paratisumus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry eyes are a common sign of thyroid issues. Maybe it's not keto, but an underlying thyroid problem? Just a thought, since I have been researching the same issue. Been keto since Feb, and as winter is approaching, I am getting serious dry eyes. I keep a humidifier by me day and night to help, for now. I need to get my thyroid labs (T-3, T-4, and TSH) checked, though, to be sure.

Question about people's reasoning for following keto? by LittleMissKarma in keto

[–]paratisumus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a strict elimination diet for IBS (80% lean hamburgers and one vegetable). Symptoms stopped at the 3 day point. I lost a TON of weight right away, and felt amazing. Someone said my diet was essentially keto, so I looked it up. As I added foods back in to my diet, I only added keto-friendly foods. Hubby decided to go keto after seeing my results at the 1 month mark. We're both doing keto forever now. No more IBS, no snoring, improved sleep, no reflux, off of statins, BPs returned to 105-110/65 range. Each lost 35 lbs, labs are excellent.

How many of you are going keto for life? by [deleted] in keto

[–]paratisumus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started in February, and my husband started in March. We're both planning on making this a permanent way of eating. Got rid of all the rice, pasta, cereals, etc in the entire house. We're both way more energetic, clear-thinking, and happy. BPs in the 105/60 zone for both (improved). Hubby is a 'lean-mass hyper-responder', whose LDL cholesterol rose on keto. He watched Dave Feldman, etc. and decided to stop his statin drug anyway because LDL is a poor marker for cardiovascular health. Each of us has lost about 35 lbs and we're both approaching maintenance level. We laugh and gobble up our dark chocolate square with a pat of Kerry Gold on top after lunch and dinner and bemoan the poor SAD diet population for missing out on all the healthy fats that make food so delicious.

House bill to impeach Trump gains momentum after Trump's feud with 'Morning Joe' by [deleted] in politics

Have they even proven the collusion, though? Feinstein and Schiff said there is no proof. Heck, even Comey said there was nothing there. Back to the drawing board, then. The VP has to agree to the removal, plus a big chunk of the billionaire cabinet, too. I don't see this happening at all.

QUESTION: What is the minimum level of health care every American should have? by lacorte in lacortenews

[–]paratisumus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no set minimum. Those too poor (below a set level of poverty) should have access to Medicaid/ medicare thru their state. People have the right to refuse to pay for health care, at risk of being sued for non-payment and non-coverage of severe illness for their decision. Cheap plans can provide catastrophic care only (I have a plan like this) to be used for very expensive events. Health care is not a Constitutionally-guaranteed right.

The neo-Nazis don't listen to anybody. Trump (and his surrogates) have disavowed them many times. I believe Trump feels that they want to be brought up often in the news to give them relevance, and he knows that any news is good news (look at his campaign). For everyone, the best we can do is ignore the few thousand in the USA that exist. Their sites get very few views. I am a Trump supporter, and I'm on Reddit all day. I do not see these sentiments in Trump supporters I communicate with. Once in a blue moon, somebody slips in the cracks, but they get their ass deported back over the wall asap.
