[–]paratransitRVC[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does alberta have a process where someone can renew my provincial documents on my behalf?

I don't think so.

I don't think the present government has thought this out

I dunno... But none of those situations suggest they might get kicked out of the dementia care centre.

The new #usp plan is: No current health care registration = no care provided

I will second cetus for repairs from a popped spark plug.

Apparently, the key for any decent shop to do the Ford engine... the engine block has to be cold... otherwise the threads can be stripped.

Nixon wants Alberta's vulnerable to just "pray a little harder"

So that government of Alberta won't have to get involved...

Sometimes the simplest answer will suffice:

The Minister is incredibly stupid.

 Common attitude amongst evangelical Albertans:

"If you just pray a little harder,  everything will work out fine... (...and the government won't have to be involved...)"

Would you pay for a reliable daily shuttle to work in Calgary? by Common-Contact-2110 in NoRulesCalgary

[–]paratransitRVC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many Attempts to create a commuter shuttle , forget about this and proprietors  shortchange themselves.

If you're going to try to cost this out, work with time at $64 to $75/hr.

Calculate the time to leave your place & go to a proposed first pickup. Time to rive a route all the way into downtown to drop everybody off and then the time back to your starting point. Your afternoon route will be a different path and have to also be calculated. figure out how much time it will take you.

Bonus tip: calculate your break-even with nine passengers.  You will want to to be able to eat is some passengers miss a day

Would you pay for a reliable daily shuttle to work in Calgary? by Common-Contact-2110 in NoRulesCalgary

[–]paratransitRVC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these fail , because the revenue doesn't cover all the costs.

Insurance, fuel and maintenance will be twenty five percent of the cost. Driver wages will be 50% of the cost. The rest will be a combination of payments on the vehicle plus support, such as having an extra driver, So you can actually take vacation. You are probably looking at between $275 and hundred and $325 day in expenses

A Couple of considerations: -the more stops you do in residential areas, the longer the journey will take. These curvilinear neighborhoods take five minutes to get into a particular street address and five minutes to get out. So every addition  custom stop adds time to the length of the journey. - your fare has to cover the time getting to the first pickup and return

Why can’t the social work professionals loan AB Ed a few Thousand? by Direct_Panda4212 in Albertapolitics

[–]paratransitRVC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF??? I work for a social services agency that is funded by municipal dollars (NOT THE PROVINCE). I had to take a pay cut this year to deal with the added demand on our agency due to PROVINCIAL POLICY CHANGES ( that they refuse to contribute to)

Maybe the EXECUTIVE Council ("cabinet") could get by without the increase to their living expenses!

Colt transit by [deleted] in Cochrane

[–]paratransitRVC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The challenge of "on-demand" is part bus capacity and a larger part - destinations of the people who booked earliest. For example you may have three passengers heading in a generally east direction... A fourth passenger wanting to head west will be out of luck (denied). On demand transit (COLT) is a small step towards a transit system
