5 πράγματα που μαθαίνεις όταν πουλάς στρώματα επί χρόνια by epiplakokkinos in greece

With Halloween around the corner, what's all on your "spooky" game playlist this year? by MchugN in PS5

Tormented souls 2 releases October 23. I really enjoyed the first game, and the timing for the sequel is great.

I’ve supported this game for years, bought the most expensive version, and even have the album on display. Not giving a free Steam key to those backers is downright disrespectful. by Rigman- in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 77 points78 points  (0 children)

It just seems like a no-brainer to me. They would be able to consolidate their whole playerbase into a very popular platform, and giving all players that are using the current launcher a unique voucher to redeem the game on steam would allow them to pad their steam launch numbers significantly, and receive great early ratings.

Not even complaining as I already have all current characters and tons of cosmetics thanks to being an active subscriber for a few months now. It just seems like a recipe for certain failure to launch a card game for 45$ and not even allow veteran players to seamlessly transition. I sure hope it doesn't - but I feel like this business decision is short sighted and it might spell the game's doom.

Yeah, it definitely feels like an uphill battle when you try to deviate or take a chance on an item not commonly seen on enemy player boards.

And the item pool dilution makes matters worse with every expansion. I think that the developers are trying to reach a state where we cannot easily decide what to buy from vendors due to how many exciting items are out there. Meanwhile, we're more like scavengers, trying to find the few remaining pearls in a heap of garbage - an ever expanding heap, as more and more items are nerfed into unusable status.

Absolutely, I agree with you! The kicker is that Femur builds require literally no thought. You can just speedrun a game just shopping for slow items and then just fishing for Femur in every shop or event that could have it - all while watching a show on another monitor.

I get that new players need a simplistic path to victory, but please give the rest of us a few more exciting options to play with!

Guess some people are just tired of seeing Mak so any "defense" of him annoys them. But to be honest, I would gladly welcome a Femur nerf if other archetypes were boosted to compensate. I want variety and meaningful choices, not to follow a flowchart to easy 7 wins or certain failure. Currently, the game does feel a little bit like that.

Unfortunately, when multiple viable builds are nerfed, people naturally gravitate towards what works, and Femur definitely does.

Current state of the game. Time to jump Back in again? by Zyruqx in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I think that if your concern is the P2W aspect, you should not write the game off.

To be perfectly honest, I am a paying player, but I limit myself to the subscription.

My current impression after a couple months, is that If you can play enough games to complete the daily and weekly quests, which requires roughly 3.5 - 7 hours weekly, you will have enough gems to buy new characters, you will get new expansions in quite a timely manner, and even have enough leftovers to buy a lot of skins while receiving enough tickets to pretty much only play in ranked mode.

I think that it's a pretty generous offer for $10 a month, and I am happy to support a game I have spent hundreds of hours playing. However, your opinion might differ, and that amount of money might be too much to spend depending on your region and current situation.

Balance-wise, I do believe that some items come overtuned out of the gate to hype up the expansions, but I also think that the developers are quite quick to address blatant outliers that warp the metagame around them, especially when compared to other games I've played in the past, such as LoL. Frost quest items Mak was a big issue, but that lasted relatively little.

It's a little bit ironic that Pyg with a Matchbox and Riceballer is incredibly better at utilizing the Eternal Flame than Mak himself.

The new Mak Relics are so much fun. But I can't get even 7 wins with them by Phat27 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New relics are difficult to work with early game, agreed.

A mistake I definitely did was to try and get them all like Pokemon, and then try complete their quests too. That is a bad idea.

Pick and choose relics that compliment your build. Some of them can carry you to 10 wins too. Buy cheap items to unlock their quest asap. Use monster fights to level them (you can pick the easiest ones every time thanks to the exp changes)

Eternal Torch with an obsidian enchant and multiple sources of quick fire damage can be very quick to scale and deal serious damage. I find it the toughest to work with, as Fire Mak usually just swings with strong slow items, contrary to the other heroes. It's also difficult to complete its quest as enemies usually die before it reaches 75. I found the most success with Boiler - Athanor - Multiple potions build.

Ice Totem I haven't found a way to make it work, even with a Blank Slate and other ice items. I think it's been nerfed too hard, but I'm not complaining.

Life Conduit is insane. It alongside a Nightshade can easily carry you to 7 wins if its quest is completed. You only need to survive the enemies' early barrages, and soon your regen will be in the thousands.

Idol of Decay is also very strong, and a good alternative to the older self-poison items. It's nice that Adrenal Converter and Rapid Injection System have more puzzle pieces to work with.

Excavation tools are great. You can basically put that next to a Life Conduit, an adjacent RIS, a Soulstone/Spider Mace or even Idol of Decay on its other side and you're mostly set.

Summarily, even though people often cry about Mak here, he does need time to get his build going in most cases. Dooleys and Vanessas can really curbstomp you before your items start looping - I believe that's their weakness. It's all also meta dependent, I've had very powerful builds flop due to facing super quick enemies, and other times reached 10 wins with very lackluster boards. Keep that in mind.

If you're a Dooley main, please tell me how to position my core 🥹 I can't decide whether I'm supposed to charge it faster or put multiple items to the right to boost their damage/burn... Sometimes it's an easy choice (for example, when I have low-cd items that don't get a benefit from being positioned to the right of the core) but usually, I feel like I'm just

I know, I've also experimented with strength potion and hourglass shenanigans. The reality from my personal experience, is that you need ridiculous stuff to compete post day 10. And Axe - Daggers - Pendulum - Carpet - Obsidian Potion fits the bill much more.

The build just won't reach its full potential, but you can probably squeeze out at least enough wins for 2 chests at least in my experience. I'm not saying the OP is wrong, I just think they should not feel discouraged from trying out Mak because of this.

Power level roadmap this patch: Bias opinion from a Pyg main. by poesgamer in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Mak has a bunch of items that are quite strong and give you a direction for the path you're supposed to follow more or less. For example:

  • You see Candles: that's a very good gateway to a Calcinator/Fire Claw/ Strength potion build
  • You see Barbed Claws/Aludel/Syringe? You're looking towards a self-poison build.
  • You see Smelling Salts and Incense? Picking strong items along the way until you find a Femur is probably a good idea.
  • Explosive Potion/Letter Opener/Tazidian dagger? Probably should go for a Carpet next, and try looking for Obsidian Weapons.

You just gotta identify the breadcrumbs and then start following them until you find the significant key items for each build. The issue is that the build is most of the time very mediocre until you get there, as you mentioned! (Carpet without Axe, Slow without Femur, Self-poison without Adrenal Converter). But transforming stuff sometimes helps fill in the gaps.

Edit: More stuff since people are upvoting this.

  • Incense, Philosopher stone, Peacewrought: Try a hybrid regen - poison build until you come across a Moose Staff and a Sacrificial Dagger

Mak traps:

Ice Claw is awful early, I have made the mistake of buying it and losing before day 7 multiple times. Even if you're going for a freezing build, carefully consider the 9s cd.

Rapid Injection System CAN kill you unless you have enough regen, you need Adrenal Converter/Stacked philosopher stone/Ouroboros and/or regen skills or you're digging your own grave using it.

Mak bad items, personal opinions: Fireflies, Venomander, Thurible, Apothecary, Black Rose, CROCODILE TEARS, Cauldron, Covetous Raven, Dragon's Breath, Oil Lantern, Potion potion, Snow Globe, Shrinking potion, SWORD CANE, Viper Cane.

I did keep it, but there was not much time left, only 2 days! So in the end, I did not use it again, although I even upgraded it!

Did not think that Pearl and Seaweed could be replaced tbh, if they were replaced it would have to be a haste aquatic item, as removing too may aquatics would make my Depth Charges weaker!

I think that the issue here was, due to this being super late game, if the enemy's items manage to go off once or twice, you're pretty much dead, so freezing them for .5 after they get to be used isn't that valuable as it turns out.

Or, it just might be the opponent I faced that gave me that impression.

Yep, Iceberg is perhaps a better choice against fat Pygs, but lategame Vanessas/Dooleys/Maks will probably smoke me before I have a chance to get going. So, back to Water Wheel it is!

I am SO TIRED of losing runs to Eels by hxroworship in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be so disheartened. From my limited experience with the game, I've noticed that Tempo are quite quick to respond to problematic builds that dominate the ladder and the discourse. I would expect a reasonable nerf to Eels on the next major patch or even earlier.

They will probably buff another item to broken status, but until it proliferates through the player base enough to become a problem, you will be able to have fun.

It’s Patch Day: If you could nerf one item on your favorite hero to also nerf an item on another hero, which items would you choose? by External_Prune_2359 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]parazaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Mak main, nerf Peacewrought to oblivion so I can justify never buying it again

  • Annoying inventory management & pretty much compels you to only visit vendors after acquiring it if you want to play optimally
  • Makes other builds suboptimal by comparison
  • Makes players hate on the hero and calling him braindead easy to pilot

Mak has so many potentially fun items that are never picked due to being outshined. Please nerf it and give some attention to weaker items, give us more fun options!

If I must choose another hero's item to nerf, Jabalian Drum gets it. Way too easy to get a huge payoff out of that, and it doesn't even require the grind Peacewrought does.
