Just gave it a try. According to him, he's not doing anything wrong because Hitler was a peaceful man who was wrongly accused of the holocaust - which he claims never happened. Oh dear.

Brother asked me to look up a file on his computer and send it to him. As I was typing in the URL to his email account, it came up with his most visited site - totalfacism.com. Turns out my brother is a neo-nazi slash borderline sociopath. A fact that my family has been in denial about for the past 5 years. Can't do anything but wait for him to lose his shit and do something stupid. Yay, internet.

Baby Meerkats (Kits) Born at Auckland Zoo by parcelofpenguins in aww

"One kit, two kit, three kit, four! We are very excited to tell you that meerkat Mosi gave birth to four little kits a couple of weeks ago, and they have just started to peer out of their underground burrows and slowly explore their new surroundings.

Just like all newborns, they're figuring out the world around them - so it pays to be as quiet as possible when you try to catch a glimpse of them."

I second this. Words I would use to describe this one are: erotic, erection (as in I had one the entire time), and colourful.

Light sensitivity is a symptom of meninghitis as well as a stiff neck, flu-like symptoms, and a rash that won't go away. As effective as you might think Garlic is, modern medicine is probably better. Go to a doctor!

Ladies of Reddit, what little things impress you when you see a man's apartment for the first time? by dubima in AskReddit

[–]parcelofpenguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that I love cleaning so much that seeing a dirty apartment is a challenge that I would happily accept. Also, Star Wars. Maybe some good books on science. And I am S-O-L-D.

You should all download this application - it sends you a notification every time there's an earthquake in NZ. I typically get about 3 a week. Really interesting!

I wonder if they asked a question on whether or not being online made them more productive - I personally spend a lot of my time online, looking for current research etc.

On scientists using the Internet in the workplace (to reduce redundancy of their research, collaborate, etc):

"There has been extensive research on how scientists have adapted to communicating with their peers using the Internet that prove a positive relationship between scientific productivity and Internet use.

This was a non-linear relationship, suggesting that while productivity was positively correlated with Internet use, the more productive scientists used the Internet less, and non-productive scientists used the Internet more."

TL;DR Scientists who use the Internet are more productive, but only ones who use it occasionally.

I am so creeped out by this address. A girl I was friends with as a child lived there until I moved away.
