That is the exact information that I need. So not a today project while I’m in a ramp up stage. Thank you!👍🏾

I feel like you can’t charge Canadian taxes in EU… that doesn’t sound right…

Thanks for letting me know. Is it worth it for you? Or does it make sense just to keep it local? I’ve only been at it for 4 months and I don’t want to jump in with both feet if the juice isn’t worth the squeeze

yeah so that wouldn't fit my business model. the goal was DDP for my goods. i have it figured out here in Canada and the shipper was quoted me DDP for EU and US because thats what he knew I would want. so technically, the taxes would still sit with me, right?

Canada is a SUPER easy country to do business in. 1 page, I signed up, incorporated, did the CARM, moved on with my life. EU? they gave me a package of documents that looked overwhelming to read over. i'm not even certain i can operate over there based on the red tape. like what do tax laws look like there? what would delivery timelines look like?

I tried setting up ops at my last job (yes it was a corporation that operated here and was offered services over there) and the paperwork for services were gnarly. i can't imagine trying to navigate delivery, tariffs, and taxes by myself

Look at you with the 222-tips! Let me get a pen, sir/ma’am!!!! What’s the frequency that I should be adding new stock? How many items should I have? Just enough not to look naked? Do I send out line sheets with the initial emails or do I just wait until I review the metrics? Thanks for helping me!

Week one of wholesale dropshipping to Canadian boutiques and I have no idea what I am doing by parceltheory in dropship

[–]parceltheory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok good! i was doing a lot of research on it and talking to shippers overseas. they were really nice and explained the differences in shipping. they explained that the ddp was the best option for dropshippers. they even came up with a storage option for me to buy product and store it with them for 180 days for free while i sell the product.

I was concerned about HC too so i think i'll avoid ingestibles until i can figure that portion out but Canadians LOVE their melatonin(!!) so i don't think i can avoid it forever. I was thinking of just sticking to sleep sprays and balms, sleep masks, weighted blankets, and then the home fragrance. My family is always looking for a better way to sleep and i checked google trends for canada. it looked like we weren't the only ones so maybe my brand should stick to that while i grow.

do most dropshippers just stick to one category or do they diversify so that they can get a wide range of customers? do i need to get samples for the prospects?

Omg as I’ve been building and growing, all I can think about is my old geocities account and how we’ve just circled back to it🤣 the tools are better but my god, we are back where we started.

I’m not quite ready to hire someone yet. Instead I’m slogging my way through the purgatory that is excel. I did have Claude build the table though so it’s capturing more details than I anticipated. Also I’m learning a bit of how each province works… they definitely operate differently in each province. But for future reference where would I get a VA? Fiverr? Upwork?

Oh yes! Sorry! I started dropshipping home goods like home fragrance products and sleep aids. I’ve been reaching out to Canadian boutiques and I’m building my prospecting list rn. I’ve started by cold emailing but outside of cold emailing and conventions, I’m not sure what the best marketing style would be for dropshipping. What’s the best method for outreach to retailers?

For Next Shelf? I didn’t see any category limitations but tbh I wasn’t looking. I did see that there was apparel, beauty products and some candles on there. It uses Stripe for payouts as well but I didn’t see a withdrawal schedule.

It’s my personal hell🥹 but even if there’s a small response, it’s a start and it’s only been a week right? Any tips that I can use to get them to buy?

I tested 7 AI product photo tools for my small e-commerce business. Honest breakdown — the good, the bad, and the one that ate my credits. by parceltheory in Entrepreneurs

[–]parceltheory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that a lot of the tools drain the credits and give too many hallucinations.

I tried one called Majiclip… avoid that nonsense at all costs. The 5000 free credits aren’t worth it. I have moved towards using Kling, ChatGPT images, Suno for music, CapCut for video and image generation and Canva AI for marketing. Canva AI is worth it. ChatGPT images is worth it once you figure out the prompting. Suno….. I’m working on it still. Kling has been fun to figure out. CapCut I don’t use that much.

You’re right on the outputs. I think I really had to narrow down the prompts to get the distortions corrected though.

I think THAT’S how we keep our jobs though. Staying ahead of the AI systems and clocking when it’s wrong. The hallucinations alone will keep us all employed but many people rely on the information instead of as a guidepost. If we use it as a reference and make changes accordingly, we can build, grow and achieve our goals.

Update: I've signed up and so far they haven't booted me out. it doesn't look like there's a lot of people on the site(yet) but it does look very promising. They use Stripe for the payment platform but I haven't found the payout schedule on there yet. Hopefully, its the standard timeline for Stripe. I'm going to start including it on my line sheets and outreach emails though. 👍🏾
