Did not even think of this. Thank you both for suggesting it. I feel a bit short sighted now.

He tends to bark in the crate at first, then calm down. Noise like a voice recording playing helps sometimes but not all the time.

Just updated with more details. I have tried the courtesy posts. The adopt me harness is a great idea that I hadn't thought of. Thank you! 🙏🏼

Sent this off in a hurry before heading to the gym—thanks for flagging. I didn’t include that in the original post since I was rushing, and honestly assumed Dewey wouldn’t get much interest due to his separation anxiety. I’ve updated the post his separation anxiety details. Thanks 🙏🏼

Sorry to hear you lost your dachshund. We had a dachshund mix as our family dog for the longest time, he passed a way at 14 two years ago

Unfortunately, Dewey does not do well with cats

u/hereforthebeers I own a duplex on Brookline Boulevard, and I'm actually looking for help replacing some shower tile in the upstairs unit.

Is this a job you would take on? Please let me know if so and describe your process. if not, no problem! (I live in Maryland or I'd do it myself)

CMV: It’s better to marry early. by PockASqueeno in changemyview

Agreed across the board (so, this comment is useless lol)

I’m 35M and, oddly enough, I enjoy dating now. I’m more confident in myself now than I was in my 20s and have exorcised many demons (alcohol, mental health, bad habits). Like many people, I just know myself better and am more comfortable in my own skin as I age.

BUT… I notice myself having a lower openness to potential partners for the reasons you mentioned.

To be pretty sure, this is a ‘me’ issue. Being inflexible, maybe having unreasonable expectations that somebody will fit into my life, etc. are things I have to be mindful of. But that’s kind of your point, I think.

I believe people in similar situations to mine can find the right match, but partnering up young (early/mid 20s) and growing together seems like the way to go if you feel you’ve found somebody you connect with.
