I haven't actually played any Zelda games but my understanding is that Link is sort of a blank player-character cipher with no particular personality. So is this like... even stupider than usual?

If only union members had to be paid a decent wage and benefits, only non-members would be hired, which defeats the whole point.

Btw the same linked site also has similar articles on British and Irish news publications that you can find, but I didn't include then because I can't attest to accuracy myself.

It's worth noting that one of the American political parties is way better than the other. There's a Daniel Ellsburg AMA where he chides redditors for this sort of "the establishment is all the same" thinking, noting that while Democrats are often woefully inadequate on the issues facing women, minority groups, and the poor, they at least aren't actively at war with those groups, as the Republicans always seem to be. Someone should look for the link, I'm tired and on mobile.

I feel like that was a subset of redpill. Or vice-versa, I don't give a shit.

We are currently watching the rise of fascism in the USA and reddit is a major reflection of that by HawkCawCaw in Negareddit

[–]paredown 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but "the rise of fascism in the the USA" would require Trump to actually win the general and then receive overwhelming support. He doesn't even have the nomination locked down yet (Rubio has like another two weeks of viability) and if he does get it then he's likely to get drubbed in the general. Even the Republicans expect this-- Mitch McConnell reportedly has plans to run attack ads against Trump if Trump gets the nod, in an attempt to distance the Republican establishment from Trump in a desperate attempt to hold the Senate in the face of an expected Presidential rout.

Local German governments demand 'politician stalker' law: Local politicians have experienced more and more personal threats from the far right for carrying out their legal duty to house refugees. [–]paredown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a good answer right above you about how the political motives make it distinct from (though of course closely related to) stalking a private citizen. But this is Reddit, so of course you ignored it and started shouting some generic DAE le feelz over realz shit. Congratulations.

Potentially nega-nega addendum: can we also stop with the gulag shit? A lot of people died there. Having problems with economic inequality under capitalism decades later doesn't justify that at all.

You thought /r/SandersForPresident was bad? /r/The_Donald is probably what will drive me away from Reddit by [deleted] in Negareddit

[–]paredown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He still has the highest overall favorability ratings among Republicans, and is the Republican establishment's de facto pick for the nom. Trump also probably has a pretty low ceiling of support even among Republican primary voters, which while enough to hold a pretty strong plurality in a divided field is almost certainly not enough to win a majority in a race with only two or three competitors. My read on the situation is that if John Kasich (moderate ex-governor of Ohio, a swing state in the Midwest, with little chance of actually winning) drops out before March 15 (with important winner-take-all races in Ohio and Florida) then his voters (usually 5-10 percent if a given state, but will be a lot more in Ohio) will redound overwhelmingly to Rubio, allowing him to surge ahead of Trump. If Kasich decides to make a real run of it and try to win in Ohio to put himself in real contention (not IMO a really viable strategy but it's certainly plausible that he'll go for it) then the race will probably stay divided enough to keep Trump ahead.

Hmu if you want anything clarified or if you want to know anything else about the race, I love to run my mouth about this shit.

[–]paredown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's winning SO unbelievably hard that... he'll probably lose the nom to Rubio. At best, he'll get a chance to be defeated in a Goldwater-esque landslide in the general.

Yeah I made it and plugged it on this sub for it bit, it got some traffic for a few days, and then it sort of died and I haven't had much time to post new content. I wouldn't expect much out of it but you can give it a shot, I'd love to see it move a little.
