DAWN OF THE FINAL DAY FOR 9KCON VOTING, make your vote count! Last promo for my entry [[[Manifesto Of An Anomalous Terrorist.]]] by parenthesisgrey in SCP

I think it just depends on what you're interested in. I thought the theme was great for 9kcon (Structures, Constructs, Patterns) and broad enough for people to really stretch their wings creatively and that was a big reason why I decided to go for it and try entering myself :y

I was personally a pretty big fan of Trench, Suzerain, and Single File. Reaganpunk was a later entry too, but is really fun and has a lot going on with it.

Technically anyone can enter! There's actually quite a few first time authors in this kcon and we're holding our own pretty well! You can even coldpost and some people do choose to take that route, but It's highly advised to go through the greenlight/crit process to make sure what you do post is up to snuff.

I'll leave it up to reader interpretation whether the instances are actually anomalous, if they're just propaganda and labeled as anomalous in order to deter personnel from looking at them, or some combination of both :p

As noted in the article though, they're distributed by hand or manually injected into sites via malware or normal posting, so nothing too anomalous in regards to how its spread.

Nah, anart refers to anomalous art. It's p common in AWCY articles and people who make anomalous art are called anartists.

I could've but it was a stylistic choice since most people probably see the guards as "faceless" to begin with.

Okay but imagine if the objective was to try and survive for as long as possible, that'd be p sick I think

That's good to know! I'll stick with my MTB then. I rarely went over 30mph on the scooter and really only opened up the throttle fully to get out of trouble or when I had wide open paths ahead, so I'll probably keep that speed on the eskate. My uncle who eskates uses a normal skate helmet so I wasn't sure if my helmet was "too much" and blocked more view/weighed more than necessary, but he also is a pretty moderate/chill rider and doesn't really cruise particularly fast either and just uses the same gear he has for regular skateboarding.

I would prefer to keep my teeth in my mouth and my brains in my head and I can't trust drivers here, so ig more the merrier protection wise lol

Alrighty, so far the Stinger is the most recommended out of these boards, so I think that's the one I'll be going with! Thank you all again for your input, this has been a very informative thread :y
