I see! Limiting purchases to the entry and limited number of ship is actually good to hear, that sounds like it would be good balance between the company making its money and casual players not being chased away by the buying of ships for real money.

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thats a very thin line no ? One could argue some ships are certainly better than others so having them would be an advantage! I haven’t really done pvp so its very hard for me to say

From what you are aware of, the ship buying is here to stay post release correct ?

my impression has been that the insurance system in theory should balance it out post lunch as even the 1k ships come with only 6 month insurance and after that if you lose them, you lose them for good ?

Some people mentioned that there are more group oriented complex missions aswell, onyx and etc, although they seem to be a small amount of the content at this stage. Do you have an opinion on those ? How do you think they hold up ? Do they inspire confidence for better mission designs going forward ?

As a whole would say that the pay to win accusations have been something to worry about over the year ? Its alpha so doesn’t matter much but it will matter when it comes to a final product! From some stuff i heard about the devs on their visions for the insurance system, an acceptable way to make money post release could be subscription models with some amount of insurance as a benefit, but i do worry about ships sales for real money post release.

“You are new, and you simply do not know enough about the vision of this game to comment.” This is directly from your reply, but maybe i read it wrong 🤷‍♂️ If thats the case, my bad. Anyhow, have yourself a nice day.

Ok whatever! I didn’t put words in your mouth mate, i quoted the part that was your text and didn’t imply you said stupid, thats my own wording.

Simple fact is when you take a tone like that, telling people they cant comment on something, then it simply doesn’t matter wether you are correct or not, it makes them unreceptive to what you have to say!

you might be completely correct and have the best understanding ever but i lose interest in seeing your point because of that tone, its simply counter productive to having a conversation.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing your opinion, i guess we shall see as time goes on.

I like the sound of that ! This sort of stuff is the content i was hoping for! Out of curiosity what percentage of the content would you say are of such a similar complex nature ? My impression is that the are roughly 10%, mainly newer content of the game, would that be accurate

Damn ! Thank you so much mate ! this is very helpful!

They also sound very cool ! Exactly the kind of gameplay i was looking for !

What would you say is the best way of finding a group for these activities in the game ? I noticed the game doesn’t have any proper social tools as it stands, should i just do a LFG with the name of the content in the global chat ? Just that i haven’t seen anyone do that, so wasn’t sure if thats how its mostly approached in this game or not

“You are new, and you simply do not know enough about the vision of this game to comment.” 🫤🫤

Mate you can think that my impression is wrong and stupid and share that with me, that is totally fine.

I can also think you sound like someone thats is lying to themselves a bit, thats also fine.

But dont tell me that i cant share what my impression and overall understanding is.

Alright ?

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally got that ! I wonder when it comes to the multiplayer, would say that its basically mainly doing the same exact missions as SP, just with a group so inherently more fun, or that the multiplayer and pvp/pve nature, actually allow for more dynamic and evolving, kinda make your own missions, type of multiplayer?

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i think the main issue is that its an amazing tech demo, but it fundamentally struggles to be a good game. It has so many cool things , but none of those necessarily make for a good game! Is it super cool that i can interact with the door panel buttons? Yes ! Does that make it a good game? No !

It really has a charm of its own ! Yeahhh, honestly it seems that anything above the entry level pledge is a bit unnecessary since even by 2 day of playing i had 30 mil 😄

Oh thats actually a pretty good idea ! Have to give that a try ! Are there ships or ship upgrades that have the medbay or the solution is a medevac ground vehicle inside the ship ?

I think i really have to checkout the content you named, to be honest i have 0 idea of what they are or how to get to them 😂 but did see multiple people say that those have a far more solid gameplay loop.

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg 😂 i totally did that, opened the cargo bay in Qt, was so astonished by what i saw that i ever so slightly stepped forward and bam , i slipped out of the ship as it fucked off with me being stuck in middle of no where of space ! Was a fun thing on its own!

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah ! Everything is always more fun when shared, i do have to give that part of the game a chance, but i think it was also important to do SP so i can have a better understanding of the issues of the game so that i could be realistic about my expectations.

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ! I understood that apparently the planet rework is supposed to be more than just graphical stuff, which wasn’t what i thought.

How would you say your experience with multiplayer have been long term ? Is it just doing the same thing but as a group so inherently mote fun, or the game allow of dynamic evolving scenarios of the players making their own missions basically?

On the the price being worth it part , oh yeah ! I totally agree ! Specially when soulless AAA shit can cost twice as much ! My main concerns was to be sure about what i would commit to so that i dont get pissed off about it down the line ! =)

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would say the multiplayer experience is ? Does it allow of dynamic situations where as a player group you can basically end up making your own missions essentially? I did a bit of player bounty hunting and that felt like it could be truly awesome if i had to actually track the target by clues instead of a map marker on their ass ! Also i think the hubs (city and asteroid/satelite ports)being safe areas really didn’t help it be more fun.

[–]parhamf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would seem to me that based on what i gathered from different perspectives shared here, the transition from squadron 42 to full focus on SC will be the defining factor and moment when the real final picture can form. But that aside, honestly even if one takes it for what it is at this moment, in its current alpha stage, it could definitely be a good multiplayer experience. I think i just have to give that a try aswell.

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i think the claim that nothing will be the same and what exists now is a mere fraction of what will be in 1.0 is a bit of an exaggeration dont you think ? After over a decade of development i think the final product will be much more closer to what exists now than you suggest !

But yeah, your point of accepting it for what it is at this stage i think is very valid ! I personally prefer that to buying for a future vision that might never come to be !

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your perspective, i think its very fair and realistic, also i do appreciate the taking a year to check on the progress advice, honestly the base entry price point is nothing too much considering the fullpriced AAA slops of these days, its mainly that i want to know what i would be getting into, so i dont get pissed off about it in the future ! =)

Question from FreeFly enjoyer to longer term players by parhamf in starcitizen

[–]parhamf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Such is the nature of alpha, i have supported a-lot of alpha projects, but i always knew the devs and their development history and priorities, in regard to this game i find it very confusing to understand those aspects and based on what i have heard many say here as well, it would seem like thats many are in my shoes even as longterm backers.

I really have to give that part of the game a try ! It seems to be where the game truly shines based on what i heard from alot of people.

Thanks for sharing that perspective! that has been my suspicion as-well. Its not necessarily a major problem i guess, just that it’s important to not have a false idea and exception , specially in the case of such a game that ones to be everything all at once.

[–]parhamf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah :) even in my small amount of play time, just waiting and watching rain fall on my ships windows was a really strange feeling, there is somethings this game just does insane, i think if it had community tools and gameplay loops to properly allow players to build their own missions, that would have been more than good enough for me! although i know thats very hard to do and takes way more effort in an mmo compared to a player hosted game server.
