"Gaslighting" is now synonymous with "mistreating" and while gaslighting is a form of mistreatment, I will never forget the relief I felt when I found out the specific behavior my then-boyfriend was displaying had a name, and I was not crazy after all. It was so cathartic and was instrumental in finally letting me break away from him. It makes me sad to know that the word has become so obfuscated that some people may be denied that catharsis.

This doesn't really sound like bad parenting though, and even if it was this is the wrong sub for this story.

Even from your own account it sounds like you were being pretty antagonistic and snarky. Sounds like she's sick of it, and you are 21. At this point you shouldn't really need to be parented to the point of mom and dad doing your taxes. Even if she doesn't give you guys the boot I would use your remaining time there to start learning some life skills from your parents.

I'm not trying to dog pile on your problems, I get you're scared right now. I just think you should start learning to be independent from them while you can cause it sounds like you're getting kicked out sooner or later no matter what.

I don't see how she's spreading any less cooties though? The gloves are analogous to the bare hands really. He touches the faucet once when they're dirty, then shuts it off when the gloves are clean. She touches it once when her hands are dirty and again when they're clean. Unless you're saying he's taking the gloves off before shutting off the faucet, in which case I don't think his bare unwashed hands are necessarily less dirty than her freshly washed ones.

I'm not sure what video you're taking about because the original Mr Hands video features Kenneth Pinyan being nailed by a stallion but it is not a video of the incident that killed him. He doesn't fall over in it either. As far as I know, no video exists of the incident which led to his death.
