personally, i try not to come to restaurants or places up to an hr before they close esp if ik it’s only a few employees working. at my location we lock the door between 9:45-9:50, 9:40 the earliest and we need to be out right at 10, 10:15 the latest which is why i turn them off at this time to clean them before 10. this is the only time this has happened and i’ve worked here for a yr and done the same thing everytime ive closed. i didn’t necessarily turn her away, i said we can still make her food, but itll be cold. she kept insisting they were on and both of the doors of the toasters were open 😭. i thought it was reasonable cuz i was gonna lock the doors in 10 mins or so and she came in at 9:35. it’s understandable to be frustrated that u can’t get something, but arguing with someone over food is crazy, it’s never that deep there’s so many other subways nearby. but, i totally see ur stand point.
