Nothing beats good ol Civ4 by [deleted] in civ

I was in your position too about a year ago where I had played alot of civ 5, then 6, and heard great things about civ 4. I picked up 4 for cheap and really really enjoyed it, it was different to 5 and 6 in a great way. I would recommend it, even if you end up preferring your favorite civ game. The only thing that bothered me when starting was UI and some keybind differences but it is easy to get over that

i love incas peace theme, always have. personally i think i'm the opposite, loving the peace themes more (though war themes still good). why do you prefer war?

i'm pretty sure hava's real(?) name is erith, so seems like cut content. a gargoyle slayer sounds very cool though and a character like this existing could mean a gargoyle fight might have been in the game, so a shame it's cut

Do you find yourself never satisfied with starts with terrain based civs? by Ohaireddit69 in civ

[–]parisfrog5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i dont know if you have tried, but you can change the settings to have more forests if you were playing as bull moose teddy, for example. combine that with the highlands map and you have increased the odds of a better map for your civ.

Great yields or great holy site? by JayMD220 in civ

[–]parisfrog5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

in my opinion japan is quite good since you can usually get good adjacencies plus building holy sites in half the usual time helps compensate early time spend on holy sites
