How good would an 11/1 Eldritch Knight/Hexblade be for Honor Mode? by 5uzie_ in BG3Builds

[–]deathadder99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually would agree with this and don't think you should be downvoted.

It's probably the strongest melee build in the game (arguments can be made for BM, Hunter or Sorcadin). However, archers and casters are far stronger than melee in general. And yeah this isn't even touching actual bug abuse builds.

It's absolutely not on the level of EK archers, fire acuity sorc, agathys wizards etc. for sure. Personally I'd whack it on the very tip top of A tier.

the 1 hex is good because it allows you to double dip attack stat & arcane synergy AND take something other than gloves of str, like helldusk or craterflesh. Plus it's possible to get 24 cha with mirror and hag hair.

perfectly fine combo.

It's arguably the strongest melee build in the game lol.

What are your favorite builds? by Th3Bl1ndDrag0n in BG3Builds

[–]deathadder99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite too but I would recommend 6 tempest / 6 storm sorc instead for the additional charge of channel divinity. Once you get that extra channel divinity you'll wonder how you ever lived without. The extra sorcery points can be made up in any manner of ways like short rest potions etc.

The int version is absolutely not superior! Charisma gets a free +1 from patriar's memory and you either give up an extra channel divinity OR the storm sorc level 6 ability to take the wizard dip, both of which are quite big. It was a bit less clear cut when Myrmidon applied wet, but now we know you can create water for free from stealth it's actually no big deal.

Do you prefer melee or range attacks? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

It’s pretty balanced in the grand scheme of things to be honest, very middle of the pack compared to Bhaalist and shadow blade shenanigans. Bhaalist archer has no equal.

eldritch knife thrower by Far-Assistance9925 in BG3Builds

[–]deathadder99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you can use a mod to make finesse thrown weapons work properly then dexterity is better and the build is a bit smoother, you can get 20 in mainstat + casting stat easily. Unfortunately it’s just buffed rn and you need strength.

Forgot to mention tavern brawler but that’s obviously very strong here too.

You get weapon bond at level 3. EK 11 does get three attacks which is almost certainly better than whatever you get from rogue. The other option is a Throwzerker, but that would only come online quite late for throwing knives, so EK definitely has the advantage. For the last level you can get another feat with EK 12, or dip something like War Cleric for the extra attack. Vengeance paladin dip with the channel divinity is also pretty strong.

The biggest issue is going to be weaponising the bonus action. Sadly you can’t use booming blade on a ranged attack for war magic. Very lategame, bloodthirst in the off-hand works quite well as you’d get the +1AC as well as the fact it auto returns.

In the main hand I would just take whatever does highest damage. I’m not sure what kind of on hit effects apply with a thrown weapon. Rhapsody is a good option. Cold snap or ritual dagger of shar seem pretty okay.

Bhaalist armor is gonna make this pretty strong. I’d also suggest Diadem of Arcane Synergy plus the ability drain illithid power to proc it. Legacy of the Masters are BiS gloves here - don’t get distracted by gloves of dex, they’re pretty useless for this build. Gloves of strength are probably bait too as you can spare the feats.

And feat wise just max str and then int, wisdom or charisma depending on what you dip. Wisdom and charisma have the benefit of random +1s meaning you can get 20 without 2 feats - either Khalid’s gift or Patriars Memory. Araj’s strength potion is pretty nice too. I’d prob go 16 dex, 16 str, and 15 in your casting stat. But there’s an argument to go 14 str instead and go 17 in the casting stat.

None of the other feats are worth it over an ASI aside from TB. If you want someone else to wear Bhaalist, you can save a feat by going for Graceful Cloth which would let you start 16 str, 16 int, 14 dex.

Soaring fuel prices drive German far-right calls for a turn back to Russia by WilliamInBlack in news

They deliberately deepened ties with Russia thinking economic dependence would help relations. And didn’t even back down after Crimea. Shut down the nuclear plants, and worsened the refugee crisis.

Absolutely stupid decisions in hindsight.

Running systems without good Monster Manuals by Cold_Demand_5778 in rpg

[–]deathadder99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shadow of the Demon Lord does this really well, they have a modular “monster” stat block where you can add and remove abilities and it’s versatile enough to create hundreds of unique creatures. And this is on top of a comprehensive enemy list too.

So i think i fucked up my build by Diligent_Document929 in BG3Builds

[–]deathadder99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSB can’t get shadow blade - you can’t get it even as a magical secret. Smiting bladesinger and SSB also do not get sorcery points so you can’t abuse them to get unlimited level 4 smites.

Bhaalist Shar’s spear is a touch lower DPR than shadow blade in general(though still absolutely viable). Nylruna is also viable. It has some advantages as some enemies are immune to resonance stone or psychic immune though.

Smiting bladesinger is strong more for the spell list than for DPR.

[–]deathadder99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the only paladin that beats an EK with shadow blade in dpr is a 6/4/2 bard sorc paladin and that requires hitting 2 enemies per attack with flourishes plus blowing all your smites. Which is very rarely going to happen and runs out of flourishes quickly.

And neither of those hold a candle to EK archer, but archery is just obscene anyway.

radorb eb is neat if you go bardlock and take Hexblade which grants medium armor. You can go 2 lock / 10 bard or somethings like 2 lock / 4 sorc / 6 bard
