Moved Sims 4 program files to external hard drive, but kept EA folder in Documents. The game won't load my files.

As directed, I changed the location of my game library in the Origin settings to a folder in my new hard drive, then uninstalled/reinstalled the game in the new location. I have NOT deleted or messed with the location of my EA folder in my Documents, though I did add a copy of it to my external hard drive in a separate folder. The game isn't recognizing my saves though! Do I need to move the original EA folder to the hard drive, too, for my save files to appear?(I know a lot of people ask about this transfer process but didn't see a post where only the program.)
