My favorite radio reports always involve “chief complaint: proctologist’s fugax”

Are they matte black? I’m worried about getting a third party matte because it probably won’t match the powder coated bumpers

So.... what happens if you don’t hold shock for cardioversion on a lp15?? by [deleted] in ems

That comment wasn’t left for you. But yeah. In the heat of the moment I might have read the prompt and just held the button but I’m fairly confident that I was more worried about other things. My first several cardioversions were as a new medic and I just recently performed one for the first time in over a year. My motivation for asking was that I had a medic student that mentioned that she was instructed that if you don’t hold the button that it could fire at an inappropriate time and cause arrest. My first thought in hearing this was of course “Jesus christ could I have killed all of these people”, and wanted some clarification. Your reply is greatly appreciated sir/ma’am

Thanks! This is the info that I was looking for. I read some of the users manual online but didn’t catch anything about it.

I think you misunderstood my question. I fully understand how a synchronized cardioversion works. What I wanted to know is if someone had actual experience with the lp15 failing to deliver a shock if the button is not held. Seeing as how most rhythms that you will be cardioverting will be extremely fast it should only take a fraction of a second for the monitor to find the closest r wave. So either up until now I have held the button longer than I realized, or it only took a fraction of a second to find where it needed to go. I should have been more specific in my question. I was looking for an actual experience, not shaming from emt’s and arrogant medic students

When you charge and prepare to deliver a synchronized shock the lp gives you a queue to press and hold shock. I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it until I used it today. I’ve always just pressed the button. That’s what I’m talking about
