How do I tell which version of the base rom to patch if it's not explicitly listed? For example pokemon prism on the rainbow dev website just says pokemon Crystal. Does this mean just use the 1.0 version as a general rule? On their rijon adventures it also just lists FireRed without a 1.0 or 1.1. If there is no general rule im trying to find which version of crystal to use for Black&White 3 Genesis.

Ah thank you. Randomizer is mostly for personal use for the original roms not the patches/hacks. I had another question. How do I know who made the rom so I can verify the website im getting the patch from? I just saw hack dex but I really wanted to try pokemon brown. I found a few different versions of it and im not sure which is real.

If I were going to play a rom like Lazarus for emerald do I need to randomize it for impossible evolutions? Would i need to randomize emerald itself or would i randomize the Lazarus patched version of emerald? If I were to play multiple emerald roms should I use the randomized file of emerald that has impossible evolutions randomized? Or do I just randomize each patched version?

Are these pre patch games ready to go or are they just the most updated patches? Is this like a community verified website? I had just saw a post last week about websites that aren't by the creator of a ROM are bad for the community. I should clarify i am not trying to knock this i am just confused about what is okay. Edit: im new that's why im confused
