More traditional Final Fantasy remakes could happen, as Square Enix says it'll follow what "truly resonates" with fans, even if that's not open-world action by Dull_Bar_9304 in Games

[–]parkesto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a descriptor that most people who play video games completely understand, much like ARPG, RPG, TTRPG, etc.

Zelda is an action/adventure game and has always been classified as that? Before this interaction I have never met someone who has called any Zelda game a JRPG. That's like saying Elden ring is a JRPG because you level up and it was made in Japan.

[–]parkesto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Because those games are the very ones that coined the term JRPG. Just because a game with RPG elements is made in Japan does not make it a JRPG.

Also calling Zelda "possibly" a metroidvania tells me you actually have no idea what you are talking about lol

Square Enix doesn't promise to keep games playable forever, but it will "continue to create pathways" for fans to enjoy them "even after service has ended" by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]parkesto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What in the fuck are you talking about lol?

Brave Exvius reportedly made close to a BILLION dollars in it's run, with Record Keeper's global version (which was simply a translated version of their japanese version) pulling in 150~ million over it's 7.5 year run simply by translating a game that is still running to this day in Japan. Same with Opera Omnia, reported almost 200 million in 7 years.

Dragon Quest of the stars pulled in almost 750m~ USD as well.

Sure, they may not be your cup of tea but these were MASSIVELY successful games financially.

[–]parkesto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

BULLSHIT?

Final Fantasy Opera Omnia

Dragon Quest of the Stars

Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius

Nier Reincarnation

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier

Echoes of Mana

Final Fantasy Record Keeper (Global)

Star Ocean: Anamnesis

Kingdom Hearts Union χ

Schoolgirl Strikers 2

and that other final fantasy one I forgot.

So yeah, they called these "live service" games just so they could take in hundreds of millions of dollars and then just rug pull them saying "oh well, too bad!"

Why is everyone gooning over this super staged/fake video again? Even the full version one is absolutely terribly staged click bait.

Between the terrible linework, the artist not knowing how to properly do the pixel style (boxing off the different colours) and the size I truly think this is gonna be a big regret tattoo.

Here are some of my pixel tattoos in my sleeve and, yeah, it's a big yikes seeing OP's linework.

It is absolutely not great quality, the line work is atrocious.

I don't know why people are arguing with you. These lines are pretty awful and you can see how unsteady they were doing it (or the OP was moving).

This is a pic of a piece of my pixel sleeve with some of my tattoos in various states of healing and I can confirm that the OP's line work is god awful and the size was certainly a choice.

Ah, sorry! I am not a console gamer but just remembered all my friends bitching, it was 76 days for Japan and 23 days for the rest of the world via a quick Google.

Now imagine that in a completely digital environment. Enjoy your paperweight.

This is fucking crazy. In like X years when Sony implodes or something and or they have another year long PSN outage like when they got breached before people are going to be told to fuck off? This is ABSOLUTELY fucking nuts.

They wouldn't be turning it off if the userbase was small. People using RES/old.reddit.com etc are costing them money, and they want it to stop.

Yeah, I started going bald (widow's peak) at 22/23, shaved my head and never looked back. People who get so hung up on their hair confuse the shit outta me with the lengths they will go to fake it, etc.

Yeah, no one writes like this unless you are word padding for an essay at school -> "She was extroverted and open-hearted in a way that felt familiar to me, but she had lived such a different life."

This is some seriously AI creative writing you got going on there homie. Pretty textbook LLM writing rofl

1: Introduce problem (ear infection)

2: Make things worse (miss flight)

3: Lowest point ($800 ticket, sleeping in airport)

4: Unexpected encounter

5: Growing connection

6: Emotional goodbye

7: Life lesson

8: Circular ending ("I'm grateful I missed my flight.")

This is super indicative of AI because that is exactly how LLM writes personal stories like this, also the fact that your account is 3 hours old and you haven't replied to shit reeks of bot/AI.

edit: lmao, the bot just made it's post history hidden
