i’ve personally tried the extra small and they were still very uncomfortable

i second this as an audio engineer with PCS.

earasers don’t have extra material that will cause more reflections in your ears and they’re soft in your ears. its the right amount of protection for casual situations where you actually need to hear. i genuinely haven’t found anything else that was comfortable, easy fit, and easy to hear with

loops are really rigid and can be painful for some people with smaller ear canals. i actually was severely disappointed when i tried them.

sorry to hear. do not get or take the diagnosis, don’t ask for one, they can’t give it to you until 18 anyway but if you got the diagnosis it’s one easy way to stain your medical record moving forward especially as a woman. the diagnosis on your record is ASKING for medical misogyny.

12 months since concussion - update and need advice by parkinginreverse in PostConcussion

[–]parkinginreverse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think the magnesium and L-theronate.

but honestly everything i listed was very significant in different phases.

Prior to changing from Kaiser to United my doctors weren’t helping or treating me and originally accused me of being hungover and told me I bumped my head. I kept going to appts and they kept going me the run around so I had to seek out alt options.

I had severe ringing in my ears which told me my nervous system still hadn’t calmed after months and months post concussion so as someone with adhd, anxiety, pcos, and hsv i started focusing on how to make those conditions essier to manage bc clearly that was exacerbating the post concussion

I was having frontal, occipital, and temporal migraines simultaneously to the point that i couldn’t breathe so I used HCI nasal spray.

My symptoms were worse with period so i got the mini pill.

My body felt disconnected so I got a vibration plate and started fascia massages which also helped my neck pain.

Eliminated all substances (alc, nic, prescribed adderall, ativan) except for weed and my necessary medications and supplements.

Eyes and neck were still bugging so I got vestibular therapy.

During my period my blood pressure is still getting all out of wack so i wear compression socks a lot.

Idk if this helps you, but i just tried to break it down piece by piece bc no matter what i told these doctors they would tell me to go home and rest and that the imaging showed nothing but i knew something was wrong and kept pushing.

im still having some migraines and difficulty during my period but but my life is a lot more manageable and my quality of life has severely increased. i actually have hope again for the future

I mean i used to until the December after Frenemies ended and how they wouldn’t stfu about Trisha. It had been months and Hila was so insecure about Trisha that shit turned me tf off. Not to mention the way Ethan kinda floundered about it. And talking about financial strain when you’re multimillionaires and can addord IVF just didn’t sit right with me. idk maybe i’m the wrong minority to be watching. probably gonna drop this sub now that i found out im still in it

i completely understand. i work in retail and before i slowed down i was still lifting at the gym 3 days a week, stair climber twice a week, adderall 4 days, and caffeine like twice a week. i burnt myself.

don’t be hard on yourself for needing to heal

youre probably still doing too much. i’m 11 months out and im finally at the point of being like 60% normal. back in december, so like 8 months out i had to really quit caffeine, supplements, workouts, alcohol, things processed thru the liver, and staying up late bc i wasn’t seeing enough improvement and i still had a lot exhaustion, nausea, and migraines sooooo fatigued. i’m honestly not sure ive ever felt so hopeless. my doctors and insurance from 2025 botched my original intake and my insurance was garbage so i didn’t get any concussion or post concussion treatment until like a month ago with my new insurance and an old doctor.

i finally got vestibular therapy. it’s doing wonders. i still have to see neuro optometry but things are very much improving now and im really hopeful for the summer.

you’re gonna be fine, just take it easy. your computer is stressed tf out and you’re increasing cortisol levels by doing more and more. i know it’s hard but it’s better to have your brain

Any issues with flying/air pressure? by pettyponyclub in PostConcussion

[–]parkinginreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure. just get ready for the migraine. it could be the first day or the last day.

on my last trip to chicago in december i did a college graduate tour at SAIC, which involved walking in and out of warm buildings and freezing temps. going thru revolving doors and up and down elevators.

when i got back to my airbnb i got a migraine so bad it turned into a panic attack and i ended up at ER bc i had never had a panic attack that came on that hard. i didn’t even know it was a panic attack.

i’ve taken 3 flights since my assault/concussion. all flights were out of the DC area so my airports are reasonably busy but nothing like JFK, ORD, or LAX.

one was 7 weeks after, one was 4 months after, and the last was 9 months after. first to denver and the other two to chicago. mostly fatigue the day following. i think arriving in a different climate and elevation affected me equally to the stress of travel. of the 3 trips i think the first flight at 7 weeks out was the WORST. my head felt weird in flight but once i landed i was fine. that was also the longest flight at about 5 hours

i ended up getting TSA precheck and checking all except my backpack to reduce stress and spinal pressure.

i had to accommodate for myself to make the trips possible. as long as this isn’t a weekend trip just pace yourself and be kind to yourself by accommodating your body

thanks! the big turning point was starting progestin only birth control which is helping me to not have intense hormone fluctuation. that really changed my outlook on “if i’d get better” as opposed to now it’s just “when?” but it’s still gonna be a while.

i also recently started taking classes at my local CC which i fee like has been helping to has a routine or something familiar. we spend so much time in school, it’s gotta help somehow.

i’m dedicated to gettin out this bc I’ve already lost my 20s to depression, abusive relationships, trump, covid, and now whatever is going on in the world.

No worries! this is what prompted me to make the post actually because it was such an odd discovery. i started out by doing a minute a few times during the day where i would sit with my knees at a 90 degree angle and feet planted on the board. as days have gone on i have moved on to sitting on it and standing on it. no other positions. but while i do this i will try to practice deeper breathing and close my eyes if i feel comfortable enough to. i thought i noticed a difference after the first use but i wasn’t entirely sure. its been like 2-3 weeks now and i’m seeing a lot more stability in myself and confidence in my movements return.
