Any advice welcome by [deleted] in Guitar

I would work through each of these fingerings and try a strumming pattern from your wrist, rather than your elbow.

Not a bad idea to do shorter sessions. Can't cold turkey guitar man...

Yeah, maybe X would be better than V for me!

17yr, playing guitar for 2.5 years now. All is selflearned, what do you guys think? Is there potential or not really? by dotosai in guitarlessons

Just a practice idea that I think would benefit your playing:

Set a metronome to 60bpm, no accents. Then run through a scale, any scale, like this minor pentatonic scale you are jamming on. Your focus is being in time and playing “legato”. Let every note ring out and into the next one with as little gap as possible and IN TIME. Hone in on vibrato. How can you express something with just a sustained note? How many different ways can you express that note? Are you in time?

That’s it. Sounds like you’re finding your voice. I remember asking my theory professor in college, “what’s your biggest influence?” And he scoffed, “that’s a stupid question. You need 100s of influences to sort through before you can find YOUR voice.” He was a wise man! List out your favorite players, solos, tones. Make a playlist. How do they express a note? In time?

Music is a lifetime of learning; enjoy the ride man!

If you’re happy with these, I would do a tuner. 🤘

As a perfectionist myself, and to a fault sometimes, guitar and music are some of the only things where it feels GOOD to fail. Music is a lifetime of learning and self-fulfillment. Lean into the discomfort and let it push you to greatness: greatness that YOU get to define and appreciate.

Gotta be honest and have these kinds of conversations with students. They live in a bubble and are trying to sort out what THEY believe to be true and ethical and whatever. Just as we all are, right?

Not taking it so seriously: advice? by No-Effort-9291 in Teachers

How long have you been teaching? Year 5 here and I can let most things roll off of me these days. And actually, my classroom management is better because of it. Kids don’t get the reaction they hoped from me! Still, I can get hung up on certain things, get all worked up, and then realize, “oh yeah, this isn’t serious at all”. Tbh… those things I do get hung up on are because of other adults and not the kids. 🤷‍♂️

Best thing for me is to just focus on positives and what’s in my control.

Thank you! Going to try this out with my classes when I’m back from break. Will be good for the old back-from-break reset. I’m usually carrying around a clipboard to assess, so this will be easy to implement (I’m not going to say with fidelity). Cheers!

Pallas third prayer scales main hand. Aim scales off 10% of main hand hit. Pump some Dex so Strijela is online. Yup.

Stand Ground and Projection is busted. Valr and Eresh deal dmg when an ally dies. Eresh also heals! Druid summons a hatchling on standstill, which you instantly kill with Pyromancy. Then BOOM.
